General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

It's odd to me that Hololive would take the risk of having their entire EN cast be previously online personalities with multi-year histories and recognizable voices/talents. Maybe they decided to take a different approach with the western targeted audience, but given how they are all forbidden to speak of their past personas and it's such a taboo on the JP side of things I find it interesting that they'd essentially sit next to a landmine.

Personally I don't see the appeal of digging up their past personas unless it's directly relevant to something happening with their current persona, but I'm not going to get triggered over someone doing it. I wouldn't expect something like someone hiding behind a VTuber avatar to remain a secret for long unless they somehow had no previous internet history whatsoever.
It's actually in the audition documents that you need to have a past in online content creation to even be considered for the role. Everyone since gen 3 has done something before hololive and they're very easily discoverable. It's just that the talent themselves can't explicitly cross-promote, but some take it a step further to prevent themselves from being doxxed. Karen is still active as Dice, for example, but I think the ones who previously did streaming or videos just dropped their old stuff entirely if they wanted a clean separation. I know Coco still streams as kson but very infrequently, for example. I don't think we're gonna see Senzawa ever again or Sachi, but Nagu's art for mobile gachas is still up and around. I honestly think it's just personal choice on whether they want to DFE.

Arent they all flatties? No way Ame has boing boings, Kiara I know doesn't. Ina is a small Korean woman. Is that wine addict big?

Hard to tell since she wears baggy clothes in pretty much every shot that exists of her. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EZUyD2wU4AAPs5B?format=jpg&name=large

Ina is a small Korean woman
She get upset if you remind her that her chest can function as a normal mouse pad, i still found weird that in her own gen she doesn't have a partner per sé, Amelia has Gura (well mostly she tardwrangle her, the wrangling has become so obvious that is a meme with a actual stream thumbnail being her controlling Gura with a leash because she is running everywhere and doing nothing) and Calli has Kiara but Ina has... i dont know Nene? but she is Main

AFAIK It's not kayfabe and Matsuri is actually struggling with being gay IRL and "falling for her friends," as her roommate's socials have talked about it on numerous occasions the past several months (once even in a tear-filled audio post at like 3AM JP time). It does genuinely seem to hurt her and distract her, especially this sorta-kinda emotional rollercoaster she's been on with Luna. I'd assume part of the reason why she has such a hard time with it is due to the fact that Alphabet People don't have much sense of community nor social reprieve over in Japan like folk in the West do.
I thought the Luna thing was like a couple weeks of Luna teasing and then pretty much got dropped. What did I miss?

also, do we know anything about Hoshikawa? The way Matsuri and half of Nijisanji thirst her, I imagine her being some crazy model.

also, her HL2 streams fell flat for me, but after seeing some of her other clips, I‘ve really come to like Ina and her laid back sort of humor.

Theres nothing holding Ina to mingle with JP/ID branch right? She can speak japs so language barrier is nonexistence. Several collabs here and there and she's bound to click with someone. Or just hangout in JP minecraft server.

There is this clip of a sleepy Matsuri talking about how grateful to have met Luna that pulled on people's heartstrings. Matsuri seemed to have really been emotionally affected by Luna, then friendzoned her *shrug*
still weird that she still has not nailed one with Pekora
Pekora admits to being super shy and social awkward and finds it difficult to be around people.. You can see it in her earlier collabs, she sorta disappears into the crowd.

It didn't really get dropped, it was more or less just a moment in Minecraft when they were both on and talking a lot. We have no idea if Luna was just teasing Matsuri or if she actually reciprocated her feelings, but Matsuri definitely felt something there and cut it off before it could hurt her. She basically admitted to being bi (she has no problems with dating men, but just prefers how women look) but the situation with Luna would be difficult because they're coworkers and Matsuri promised herself never to fall for another colleague after the Hoshikawa incident. There is an extent of "the heart wants what the heart wants" but it might also just be a case of Matsuri not being able to discern between wanting to take the princess to pound town or just having a desperate need for a real friend.
Today is Artia's graduation. Is there any news about it?
She had her final Twitch stream already. I only caught the beginning of it but she at least was able to keep her stage face; Civia did the same thing on Youtube when looking back at her very few videos on the platform while showing off the new outfit that was made for her.

Sachi nuked her past life cuz hlgg couldn’t leave well enough alone. Her solo streams always end with a gimmick, and that day’s Mario Odyssey happened to be crying. Still looking through the archives for the reaction to that one. It was a notable enough event that there are no true Ame antis anymore, only falseflaggers. Even today it’s still referred to as Amegeddon.

Current theory is that she and the rest of EN were picked up before the Taiwan incident, so now she’s being quarantined to keep the wumao from leaking. It’s either that, or the Christmas season is particularly brutal for gacha artists.

I don't really understand this; Ina's not Chinese and she's so far removed from Korea that she speaks English like someone who's lived in Vancouver their entire life. I doubt she really has any feelings one way or the other regarding the Taiwan thing, or is this Cover stepping in so that the bugmen don't go after her for having JP friends?

speaking of Artia...20201119_201631.png

As a side note, someone has suggested that Artia acting the way she is is actually a lie spread by Chinese antis, but i feel like this guy is full of shit considering they're talking to someone who's actually Chinese and said "no, what Artia's doing is not right". What DID catch my attention was the fact that Artia had a breakdown and apparantly blamed her Chinese fans? I wonder if the archive of her graduation is still up. https://web.archive.org/web/2020111...m/FreezorgPls/status/1327525051470589952?s=19

edit: shit. Im an idiot and didn't check the dates. The breakdown didn't happen during her graduation it seems
