People were motivated to vote against Trump more so than Bush or Obama. Not sure why that's shocking. Remember even Clinton got something like 2.9 million votes more than Trump and Clinton was maybe the most unpopular candidate in recent memory.

Trump barely squeaked by with a victory by the skin of his teeth with around 75,000 total votes across PA, MI, WI. He won Michigan by less than 11,000 votes. Biden's margin in Georgia is even higher than that ffs.

Her favorable/unfavorable polling has always been lower than Biden. People don't necessarily love Biden but a majority of people think he's OK. And Biden gets at least part of that gender turnout boost because of Harris.

He increased his share of the vote by every single demographic except white men - and while some might attribute that to disappointed WigNats, I'm more inclined to attribute it to upper-middle class white collar professionals who switched to the Dems due to wanting to return to an outsourcing/free-trade status quo that they economically benefited from

Covid. He lost pretty much entirely due to him being unlikeable, and how he completely fucked up his response to Covid. 2020 has been a crazy fucking year, and you forget (like a lot of people) that approval ratings focus on how good a job people think you’re doing. When you go by what people think of Trump, it’s very negative. His approval ratings have never really gotten above ~48%. The people who genuinely like him as a person is only at about 36% or so. Swing voters especially didn’t like him because he didn’t turn out the way they wanted him to, so they swapped away from him. They might like his policies, but are really sick of how he acts and just want to get back to not having a president that keeps running his mouth nonstop on Twitter, and hope there’s a better option in 2024.

The links you cited say officials say no vote counts were changed. Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan all have paper ballots baking every vote. Machines are also audited every election. In Georgia, a recount was done by hand. If machines skewed the votes by millions, it would be found in those audits.

Besides California, he did better in super pozzed cities such as NYC. I recall someone saying he did better in Manhattan's county and that place is the most pozzed out of all of the boroughs here.
