One thing that confuses me is: Why bother making a video about this and then make it public for everyone to see? Either they thought this was going to be received in positive light to the audience of (mostly) middle class people with access to any type of internet connection or they are just mocking people by just telling all of us "you will live in a pod and you will like it".

The only person that would consider this in a slighty positive note would be dirt poor motherfuckers (who certainly don't have internet connections) that see this as an improvement for their lives or wealthy people detached from reality.

I think that must be taught at supervillain school.

I can't help but wonder if this stuff can only extend as far as major city limits. Looking at compliance with statewide lockdown restrictions, there is a lot of noncompliance and nonenforcement of this in more rural areas. Could this "own nothing, be nothing" society only be enforced within city limits?

Quite frankly, the scariest thing that's happened in 2020, or at least has been made more prominent, is people saying something, and then when "their opposition" literally quotes them, they are accused of spreading lies and conspiracy theories.

There's a more likely explanation. Teaching third worlders how to do things is colonialist, so they just "reskill" the Western population to be their petri dish while the rest of the world keeps being cheap manufacturing/plantation labour. It's called "The Knowledge Economy", because they're social constructionist morons who think anyone can be trained to do anything, and therefore you can just zone an entire continent for office jobs.
