A good chunk of Groypers have a parasocial relationship with Nick because they’re literal incels. The way I’ve seen them talk about him and rush to his defense anytime someone says something negative about him is really telling. It’s kinda sad because so many of them are clearly friendless irl.

I've only ever seen Tweets of his pop up from time to time, this guy is a real weirdo and looks goofy as hell lol. Granted I've only watched his content/Twitter feed for the past 5~ minutes. At this point, Stop the Steal has become the new tea party: using the anger and disappointment of tens of millions of disenfranchised working and middle class whites and funneling them into shameless grifts. The GOP is still going to deny Nick access so they’ll just try to push the groypers to the millennial grifters like Dan Crenshaw and Madison Cawthorn instead. No difference at all between these guys and Glenn Beck and Dick Armey of Freedomworks from a decade ago.

Exactly. There are plenty of problems in Protestantism, but the ability to leave denominations and establish new ones is the built-in escape hatch. The Fundamentalist-Modernist debate of the early 20th century sometimes resulted in new denominations, colleges, and other institutions once established Mainline traditions went left. As wokeness grips even the most conservative of denominations - like the Southern Baptist Convention or Presbyterian Church of America - you'll likely see more splits of the conservatives doing their own thing.

The contradition of "Trad Catholicism" is that it is naturally schismatic, which is un-Catholic in and of itself. TradCats reject Vatican II, which has the sanction of the Church in the same way that the Council of Trent does. If a Catholic actively pushes against, if not outright opposes the doctrinal dictates of Rome, he is by virtue of his stances a schismatic, which in turn undermines the whole idea of the RCC being the authoritative body with the keys to the Kingdom. A TradCat might as well be a Protestant at that point.

While what RSBN and those other two grifters did was definitely shitty, I don't think it's fair to expect the Oath Keepers to just provide free security. They may be a bunch of over-glorified weekend warriors, but they do put themselves in tough situations at times and they have to be careful about who they protect for both legal and tactical reasons. As odd as it may seem, Fuentes is one of the most controversial political figures in the country right now, so it's pretty dumb to expect a militia predominantly made up of LARPing boomers and family men to put themselves at risk to protect some 22 year old they have no prior allegiance to, especially considering Fuentes' volatile personality and history of ending business relationships in less-than amicable ways.
