Black Rifle Coffee Company Official Statement (Archive)

The veteran-owned coffee company Black Rifle Coffee has been accused by conservatives of “caving to the cancel culture mob” because of how it handled criticism pertaining to alleged Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse.
After being bailed out of jail this past Friday, Rittenhouse posed for a photo while wearing a Black Rifle Coffee Company-emblazoned t-shirt.
As the photo went viral on Twitter, outrage and hatred emerged from left-wing zealots who believe without evidence that Rittenhouse is an unrepentant murderer.
One of the conservatives who shared the photo, non-establishment journalist Elijah Schaffer, reportedly included a discount code for Black Rifle Coffee in his tweet. This led to accusations that the company was sponsoring an alleged “murderer.”
The evidence in the case in fact strongly hints at Rittenhouse having been an innocent teen who’d fired in self-defense after being violently attacked by left-wing extremists.
Look at a copy of the viral photo and some of the backlash beneath it:

The backlash, of which there’s far more than just the few tweets above, seemed to originate entirely with members of the left, i.e., the very types of people not prone to purchase Black Rifle Coffee’s products in the first place.
Launched in 2014 by former members of the U.S. military, the company rose to national prominence in 2017 after it responded to Starbucks’ pledge to hire 10,000 refugees by pledging to hire 10,000 veterans.
Since its elevation to the limelight, Black Rifle Coffee has exuded pure conservative values and has therefore been endorsed by conservatives such as Fox News host Sean Hannity.
After Black Rifle Coffee learned of the the viral photo and the accompanying allegations that it was sponsoring Rittenhouse, it issued a statement clarifying that it’s not sponsoring Rittenhouse and has no opinion on his legal proceedings.
We do not support legal advocacy efforts. We do not sponsor nor do we have a relationship with the 17-year-old facing charges in Kenosha, WI,” the company said.
We believe in the integrity of the legal justice system, and support law enforcement officials. We’re grateful for the continued support of the Black Rifle Coffee community and eager to continue serving those who serve.”
But this only set off another round of outrage — this time from conservatives who felt as if the company had “caved” to the left-wing mob.

The company appears to be between a rock and a hard place.
On one hand, it doesn’t want to involve itself in the legal matters of a young man who faces a murder charge. But on the other hand, it doesn’t want to upset its base of conservative fans who believe that young man had acted in self-defense.
It’s not clear how the company will proceed. What’s known is that the narrative about Rittenhouse that’s been peddled by the mainstream media is 100 percent false, as demonstrated by video footage recorded before and during the shootings.
One video from before the shootings shows Rittenhouse explaining why he’d come to Kenosha.
“So people are getting injured. And our job is to protect this business. And part of my job is also to help people. If somebody’s hurt, I’m running into harm’s way. That’s why I have my rifle, because I can protect myself obviously. But I also have my med kit,” he said.
This footage fits with other known information about the teen: Prior to the shootings, for instance, he’d spent his day working as a community lifeguard and later cleaning graffiti from a local public high school.
Another video shows some of what happened during the first shooting, when, while being chased by now-deceased left-wing extremist, convicted child rapist and suspect arsonist Joseph Rosenbaum, Rittenhouse turned around and opened fire, killing him.

Wait, so conservatives are just upset that BRC said, "We have no relationship with/opinion on this kid's case"?

Gotta admit, they sound like the liberals they hate, with all the "you said you had no opinion, so CLEARLY that means you're against it reeeee!" Are they seriously surprised that a company wouldn't try to involve itself with a case that it has nothing to do with?
From what I can tell they have been historically pro 2A and things like that so this is kind of feels like a "betrayal" of sorts.

The CEO was liking tweets shitting on Rittenhouse right before the first wave of articles hit which tells me that the initial reports about them dropping sponsorship were probably true. I don't know what possessed BrainLord Supreme to think that pissing off the entirety of his customer base to appease people who will never spend a dime on his products was a great idea.

He probably fully believes Kyle is some white supremacist or some kind of weekend warrior wannabe. He then projects his views onto his clients "well if I think this, and some of my buddies think this, then my clientele would probably be warm to this idea as well"
Else he could have the "I don't mind losing your business if you hold this opinion I don't" mentality.

There's a certain subset of conservatives who support gun ownership but if you use them in self defense against a jogger or anarchist they'll throw you to the leftist mobs in the name of "civility." Ben Shapiro is a good example of this kind of cuck.
A similar thing happened with the Covington boys. There were "conservatives" who couldn't wait to attack and throw them under the bus the minute their story dropped.

Looking through the guy's likes, they don't really seem to be that exclusive. It could just be he likes anything tweeted at him that is positive of his business.

Ben Shapiro is a neocon, Zionist piece of shit. He should fuck off to Israel as that's literally the only country he's capable of patriotism for or loyalty to. Same with his fellow Chosenite who's in charge of Black Rifle Coffee.

Ben was one.

We can look forward to more of this.

It clearly worked well for the left the last ten years of the bellum sociale.

Eventually the right was going to adopt the tactics

Black Rifle doesn’t believe in anything but making a profit. It’s not here to stand up for the 2nd Amendment or fight Antifa or whatever, it’s here to sell coffee to a certain demographic using right-wing cultural signifiers.

The endorsement of Rittenhouse was probably conceived as a marketing move to target that demographic (not a moral stand) but they had to walk it back once retailers, investors, etc. got antsy.

And yet we have this weird cultural push to make not only consuption choice based on a political choice but to have companies themselves embrance and export soical/political/and maybe even religious ideals.

When the coinbase bros basically said "um we just wanna be cyrpto bros not some moral police" they get shit on.

BRCC played a dangerous game/grift

They didn't really have a choice. Once the Twatterati have released the hounds, you kinda have to make a statement to save face.
This is literally not true.

Here's the secret: Twitter gets mad at something else every week, if not quicker. All you have to do is not say anything for a week and they move onto the next outrage bait.

The company screwed up royally. They didn't gain any customers from this move, they only stand to lose some.

They could be deplatformed from payment processors or even from personal banking altogether if they catch enough attention for being supportive of Rittenhouse. If they had supported him officially, that is. Considering that they hadn't it was unlikely, but if they had their entire business could be easily ruined.

Its kind of hard to be apolitical when your business is built around assault rifles and military vets.
It'd be like having a pro-choice sandwich shop
That's called Starbucks. God knows they don't serve coffee, only burnt sugar water. That said, they actually do have some tasty if overpriced food items, shockingly enough.
