Michigan Big Boy restaurant launches GoFundMe to pay for fees from defying pandemic orders to close

We've always believed the curious smirk plastered on the lacquered faces of checkered pants-wearing hamburger-obsessed Big Boy statues throughout Michigan (and parts of California, Ohio, and North Dakota) is proof that Big Boy is up to no good. He's a Big bad Boy.

The author of that article:
No one:
Me:
“he’s a Big *bad* Boy”
Alright then.

I think I undestand why some pro-mask are pissy karen. I changed my tire this morning, mask are obligatory indoor, so I had to wear one. The mechanic behind the Plexiglas didn't wear one. I started to feel resent and jalousy

ITT: Some journo bitch in Ontario goes to a bbq place opened up in defiance of the lockdown laws and dobs them in to the cops and health officials. She then proceeds to be bullied by the patrons waiting for the cops to show. Police then show up, have a look around and do nothing because they were intimidated by a large crowd eating food indoors.

Sounds like a good time was had by almost all!

A grandparent of mine died recently because of something 100% unrelated to covid-19 and I barely go to see them at all this year because of the lockdowns and everything. Dont end up like me lads. People will die sooner or later so you might as well talk to them while they are still around.

The journalist is immunized against all injuries: rascals, parasites, fraudsters, rascals, it runs down him like water on a tar jacket. Call him a whore, and you will be amazed to see how he flinches, how concerned he is, how suddenly he collapses very small: "I am recognized."

That's sad but your end statement is true. Notice how the campaigns target Thanksgiving celebrations with family, yet say nothing about Black Friday shopping or not cramming in the grocery stores. Nah I guess COVID knows when you're doing "essential shopping" on your 5th grocery trip of the week or to get that TV on sale on Friday. Seeing family is far more important than consooming.

See your family. Life is not a guarantee. Everyone seems to be assuming its "no big deal" to miss "one Thanksgiving" or "one Christmas" like they know for sure everyone will live to be 80+. This may be the last time to celebrate with relatives and giving that up out of fear is sad.

LA County Board of Supervisors meeting is being streamed here:

Bill Melugin of FOX5 LA with some highlights.:
https://twitter.com/BillFOXLA/status/1331339212809850885 (https://archive.vn/ylXUM)

I'm just going to copy the tweet text:
Dr. Barbara Ferrer just recommended to the LA County Board of Supervisors that all public or private gatherings outside of one's household be prohibited except for outdoor church services and protests, citing rising cases and a fear that hospitals will be overrun.

Dr. Ferrer points out that the homeless population is exempted from L.A. County's curfew of 10pm-5am.

Dr. Christina Ghaly says L.A. County has enough physical hospital beds/rooms for a potential surge in hospitalizations, but there are concerns about having enough staffing to handle such a surge.

L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn says she has never experienced the kind of public blowblack she's dealing with now after Dr. Ferrer's decision to restrict outdoor dining at restaurants. Says pubic is losing faith & trust in the decisions the county is making.

Supervisor Janice Hahn just asked Dr. Ferrer what evidence she has tying outdoor dining to surge in cases. She defers to Dr. Muntu Davis. He says they are operating off of a CDC study, and that's the "best information we have." They have no LA specific numbers.

Supervisor @JaniceHahn just pressed the Health Department very thoroughly on their numbers/science, and tells them she will oppose their decision to restrict outdoor dining, joining Supervisor Kathryn Barger in opposition. The Health Department had few answers.

L.A. County Supervisor Hilda Solis says she agrees with Dr. Ferrer and the Health Department regarding the rising cases and their decision to restrict outdoor dining. So far we have Barger & Hahn opposing, and Solis supporting.

L.A. County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl says she supports the decision to restrict outdoor dining at restaurants. Hahn & Barger opposing, Solis & Kuehl supporting

L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger says she is now even more upset that the decision to restrict outdoor dining was made based off of a CDC study, and that L.A. County Public Health hasn't been tracking it own their own for 7 months. Says this is totally arbitrary

L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and Supervisor Janice Hahn put forward a motion to reconsider the Health Department's decision to restrict outdoor dining at restaurants. Supervisor Sheila Kuehl immediately says she will not support the motion.

Supervisor Mark Ridley Thomas says that because the county is being sued over the restaurant order, he wants to move discussion about it into closed door session out of public eye so they can discuss it with county counsel, then make a decision afterwards.

Board is now in closed session.

L.A. County Board of Supervisors motion to overturn the Health Department's decision to restrict outdoor dining FAILS by a vote of 3-2. Sheila Kuehl, Mark Ridley Thomas, & Hilda Solis vote to keep the restriction. Kathryn Barger & Janice Hahn voted against it.

edit: I will update this post with the tweets as they come.

I think the vague sense of resentment between the “look, I’m just following the rules so I don’t cause a fuss” types and the “LOL, who’s going to stop me?” types is more prevalent than anyone knows.

The majority of the videos I've seen and accounts I've read involve blacks. It's not unexpected.

In Toronto there was a argument at a liquor store over being 6 feet away that ended up with a young man getting shot and losing his life. The perpetrator was black. I mean maybe there was more to the story but it’s not how it was presented.

Sounds like a good time was had by almost all!

It was amazing and exhilarating and honestly it made my fucking day.

Who do we think will win, the black lady screaming discrimination when the white karen snatches the last waffle maker off the display, or the guy coughing on people to get closer to the TVs?

I don’t know but I am fucking here for it.

Can we talk about the lockdowns? I expect them too last far longer with Biden. Sure, people can always just not listen, but how long before people are arrested for not wearing a mask while walking down the street, or even just being outside past 9:00?
