If your vote is challenged people will have to check your vote so yes, they will know who you voted for.

It is secret until something is deemed not to be correct.

Yeah, keeping your head on is important. Perhaps it's because I'm the type that crosses bridges when I get to them, but I've been able to overcome my initial panic by just taking breaks from this thread or political news every once in a while. Too much time glued to the political machine is subject to drive anyone up the wall. I know, what happens in the future might still suck, and I'm hardly looking forward to it, but spending most of the day being miserable and depressed about the future accomplishes nothing except adding a few stress lines to your forehead.

I'll never get people who are like "omg my kid is gonna be soooo inspired at this person being in charge!"

Speaking as someone who got into school politics - the vast majority of kids don't give a stuff about this stuff. Only the hardcore nerds with a thing for history or political intrigue get into politics or appreciate civics beyond public services they can better understand like police and fire service.

To most kids/teens, politics is people sitting in committees arguing over lots of small things (which is what it mostly *is*) - and at best you only care if it impacts you in a way that you notice. Like new math, or the forcing schools to change their lunch menu to incredibly depressing "healthy alternatives".

It's just another adult in the chain of authority that you hear about and sometimes see on TV when something important is happening.

Biden won the presidential election fair and square.
Biden is not a socialist.
There will be very little noticeable change in your lives after he is inaugurated, just like nearly every US President before him.
There will be no civil war.
Trump will never be president ever again, likely won't even run again and if he did he would lose in the primary.

Nothing in my post was a lie, you'd have to be extremely insane and delusional to think otherwise. Even the vast majority of Trump supporters already understand this.
