What's funny is there was a brief period a few months ago where I recall there being some discussion within Silver/Mouse/Melody/Zen's communities about either getting "invited" to a hololive offshoot or auditioning for it (I would guess they would have been part of the same batch that Gura and the rest came from, as this was just weeks before Gura debuted) and after some back and forth tweeting the general consensus was that they didn't want to take the dive with Hololive because they wanted to manage their own content and make their own schedules etc.

Them joining up with Hololive is a hard sell from every direction. Also they definitely wouldn't have been Gen 1 if that's the timeline. The auditions were in March, and they weren't going to do a 10 person gen at the last minute.

As for Silver I noticed something that kinda gives me the shudders. Her irl mom is supposedly one of her main community members (Mamavale) on twitter, twitch and discord, which means her mom regularly gets the gift of clicking on any of her daughter's profiles and hearing her daughter explicitly talk about curved dicks while people draw explicit pictures of her daughter with a futa dick getting fucked by another girl with a futa dick and people comment with how much they want to fuck her daughter. There's actually multiple futa r34 fanarts of them. I'm too lazy right now to dig through Silver or Mouse's twitter archives but I've seen several examples on twitter and then if you search for silvervale/projektmelody futa you'll find more on the first few pages.

I'll second that this is actually a good thing for fans of professional-agency Vtubers, as this should divert some of the mouthbreathers and other "normie" traffic away from the Holo girls, especially HoloJP.....at least while it lasts. Oh, and yes, of course if this charade keeps up for a good while, it should keep these grifters and menhera misfits out of an outfit like HoloEN Gen 2.

Definite agree on them always forgetting some fine print components to this whole thing. I assume this will become a mismanaged clusterfuck rather quickly. Also, they have a complete lineup of known bombastic, center-of-the-universe personalities who are used to doing their own things and not sharing limelight. Assuming Justin "Dollar-store YAGOO" Ignacio is actually gonna try and be a real founder/manager/whatever the fuck, and dole things out evenly, only a matter of time before one or more of them gets fed up with the "agency lifestyle." and wants out.

The problem with English vtubers is that a lot of them imagine the fans watching stuff like hololive for strictly horny reasons. They don't understand that we don't want to just be horny, we also want to be happy. I'm out of the loop on vtubers. I've tried watching a few of the popular ones and don't really see the appeal. Nothing wrong with it, just not for me.

Projekt Melody is definitely the most interesting IMO, if only for the body tracking and production value. If there were someone more skilled at gaming and less aloof with the same hardware, I'm sure they could attract a larger casual audience on Twitch that wasn't interested in vtubers before.

I don't think she has anything to worry about when it comes to doing her camgirl shit either. Twitch is full of coomer bait nowadays and as long as the spicy shit is one link removed (Twitch bio -> Twitter -> adult shit) they don't seem to care. She doesn't need sponsors anyway because she's currently standing up and waving her arms around to 8k people who are tossing shitloads of subs and donos to her, LOL.

I recently acquired a copy of the interview where she talked about her kid, the answer is 'poorly'. Her health went up and down beforehand, but she spent the entire pregnancy wasting away in the hospital. The only good thing is they confirmed her kid also doesn't have CVID.

She seems to be pretty candid about it and assuming she's telling even a little bit of truth, it's heartbreaking and I have no idea how she stays positive.

We've defied nature and God to the point where women have children into their 40s with few complications now, so this is no surprise. But as for her attitude, she's probably a little bit of a hypochondriac. Most women are to some extent - the female tendency to overthink everything inevitably extends to illnesses especially if you have a somewhat frail constitution to begin with.
