Digi and Nate posted another review of Attack on Titan on their channel.
Now, I only bring this up because I thought this might be the series they are hoping to take off, since the other big show they reviewed was Re:Zero and they were negative on their videos. Also, they made a lot of mistakes during the review of the first batch of episodes of season 2 and basically shot themselves in the foot. With AoT, they seem to be enjoying - or at least they are saying that to the camera, and AoT might be the subject to make their channel explode. But... is it?
They've been getting a reasonable amount of views if you only consider their subscribers (10.5k) and their video output - which has been really constant so far (let's see how long this will endure...). For November, I'm predicting something around 60k views, which represents a fall, but this might be good in a long run when season 4 of AOT gets out. They should def have more subscribers considering the size of their other channels, but since Digi's channel has been getting very few views and Nate has a far too inconsistent output, they weren't able to make the channel grow with their already existing brand.
Their subscriber growth is shy so far. Their better chance is to get new subscribers from people that aren't subscribed to their main channel - and that's why they are doing videos on AoT and Re:Zero, probably.
I decided to check how well the first AOT video is doing in comparison to their usual.
Digi and Nate actually have a great view count for the size of their channel, often making more than 50% of their subscribers into view. I mean, for smaller channels, the percentage of views to subscribers tend to be higher than bigger channels, but they are ok anyways. Here are some observations
- Only two videos with more views than subscribers. They are in dire need for a 'hit' to actually grow. Guess Digi shouldn't have killed his channel with the whole clusterfuck of change of names, trooning, awful music and May is now Digibro saga.
- Talking about popular anime or seasonal stuff is bringing their best results.
- They need to stop giving awful titles for their videos. Clickbait isn't that good with smaller channels and their clickbait is stupid anyways. Kawaii Anime Batman? Who the fuck is going to click on that?
- The money estimative is given by socialblade.com and here is a hint: with smaller channels, their prediction is a bit optimistic and with bigger channels it is very conservative. They might get a bit more of money with ads if their fanbase is loyal enough, but I don't think they are.
