So the normies all look and think their vote actually counts, and that everything is "normal".

They don't pay that close enough attention to this crap though. Hek, you can't even expect regular people to know who's running in the first place unless they listen to the media to begin. So again, I ask, what's the point?

Some of them, certainly. It would be hard for them to get Manchin to vote for court packing or ending the filibuster, though.
It would be hard to get a lot more than just Manchin to vote for it. Court packing is -deeply- unpopular, and a lot of the Blue Dog Democrat section of the democrats would balk hard.

Enough will glance at it, and that's enough for it to matter. Look at how many seriously think Biden is now President and don't know that Trump is pushing lawsuits.

While I think Biden is useless, I will point out that the last president to seriously fight the deficit was Bill Clinton.
Well, GWB did try to reform Social Security. He at least tried to reform some entitlements. What ideas do Democrats have to reform entitlements besides making them bigger?

Off-topic, but I seriously don't under the millions of dollars thrown around for "campaigns" assuming the money is going for things like travel expenses, hotel, food, planning events, ad space, etc. and not some legal fund or "slush" fund. Really what difference does it honestly make especially for the Left when they already have the media in their pockets? What purpose is there in needing a candidate to literally go around their district, state, or the country at large and give stump speeches/pep-rallies? I just don't get it.
The answer is right there: it's all optics. Joe Biden was a collapsing mess held firmly upright by the hands of his own party's political machinations, the media (Legacy/Big Tech), and Big Business, with a hint of a shady underground. The guy probably could have stayed in the basement and taken a daily nap, and would have gotten the same margins he had before the fraudstorm occurred. However, he needed to present himself as the candidate, and as such, (late as fuck) rally scheduling and his appearance at the debates.

2008 Obama could've done the same thing, and gotten his 2012 margins at the very least.

That, and it was either him or someone like AOC, who would have driven away any sane left winger. Add into him being VP during Obama's "normal" presidency, and he was probably the best choice they had.

And the people who are paying attention see Trump getting his shit pushed in on his lawsuits while the Right overdoses on copium.

It's ironic how many boomers hate entitlements, yet they collect social security
Well, what have we been paying into the system for our entire lives for? If you don't want me to take Social Security, then give me back all the taxes I paid into the system.

I didn't say "get rid of" Social Security; I said "reform" Social Security.

There are cities like Galveston that opted out of Social Security and are able to provide an alternative retirement plan without the Ponzi scheme structure. It pays for itself.

Some of them, certainly. It would be hard for them to get Manchin to vote for court packing or ending the filibuster, though. Winning the Georgia races is a long shot for them since a lot of Democratic voters only turn out for president (hence why Obama did badly in midterms despite being re-elected), but it might happen.

But that was in an era where the Democrats were WAY less left leaning. There was still a good deal of conservative Democrats in the form of Blue Dogs in the 90s and most issues up till then were related to economic spending, not social issue the government really has no business bothering itself with.

There's still plenty of focus on economic spending now, just not on limiting that spending at all. This is a bipartisan problem, sadly.
