I don't know what he'd actually use it for, but it wasn't what the question asked anyway. I thought that he'd use it to force an actual audit in each of the contested states without allowing election "officials" to shit up the process so that it can be as transparent and objective as possible, but it seems late for that now if we assume an audit takes at least a week. It's getting into fantasyland talking about this option in the first place, so going full Caesar isn't that implausible if it's conditioned on an already implausible scenario.
The courts act as a check on the insurrection act. If he was to invoke it he would be pulled into court and asked to explain why he called it. He would likely point to the "uphold constitutional rights" section in regards to voting which he would then be asked to show proof that these rights were violated. So you're right back where you started, Trump being asked to prove the voter fraud conspiracy he claims in court, which he has been unable to do from day one.

I don't think Trump will pull the insurrection act for the voter fraud. He'll just make some noise, but he'll eventually just leave. Most of what he's doing right now is to save face. Yeah, this election had some mass irregularities, but fraud is basically a criminal case. And this was more than likely a stand-alone complex by a lot of small political machines rather than some mass, organized RICO type deal. Which makes it infinitely harder to look into.

I can't say America got bad with 9/11, since stuff like MKULTRA was a thing, but when the towers fell, so did any hope that the world was going to get better. Ever since that day we've hit a cliff edge fall straight down to current year.
