I don't know where else to put this, but after thinking about it I realized that if you're a serious youtube "critic" something has to be wrong with you. Like, mauler is clearly on the spectrum a little bit, hbomber guy is a radical socialist, rags is a furry, there's a lot of manbabies like razorfist (razorfist is the best example i can think of rn), cosmonaut is mentally ill (just look at his gf), tonald bloke dresses up like a woman all the time, uniquenameasouras is trans or an ultra femboy, digibro is also trans, jay exci is trans sort of? he painted his fingernails and wears lipstick, there are a lot of failed writers who went through college like full fat, just write, and probably a lot of other milk toast channels I missed, nostalgia critic and his crew are a bunch of loons, movie bob is a fat idiot. The list can go on a lot longer, but we all see the trend. The only normal ones are critical drinker and E;R (E;R watches anime so we can never be too sure tho)

I think this goes for YouTube in general. You have to have a screw loose to do it for a living. Same with the wider entertainment industry.

I feel like that's why the Mandalorian stuff from the EFAP crew comes off as boring and weirdly contrarian in certain parts, they take themselves way too seriously in trying to prove it's bad and that they're the ones who'll enlighten us. That was fine with Batwoman because part of the fun of those minis was watching them lose their minds over the goofy shit in that show, but with Mandalorian it comes off as them trying to prove Disney is incapable of even doing one thing write with Star Wars, by going over the show with a fine autistic comb.

He's getting rightfully ratioed.
I know shitting on source material is one of their go-to tactic but wew, lad.
Apparently the Southpaw guy did or is planning to do a video against the Raimi movies and it's not going over well. This on top of the usual MCU stanning.
Shit like this just gives me more proof that the MCU was a mistake.

Once they have decided to love or hate a film or show they will go to any length to either defend or attack it.
It's interesting, for example, to see them jump through hoops to defend a bang average show like Bly Manor, while also relentlessly attacking a bang average show like The Mandalorian for every possible slight, perceived or otherwise.

I feel like out of all those the only one who considers himself a "serious critic" is mauler (of the ones i know anyway) some of the at least address they're just random people on the intenet but mauler is the only who thinks he found the right true way to judge things

I feel like movie bob and hbomberguy take themselves way more seriously than mauler ever has

Are comic books objectively bad now?
They seem to have a consistent general dislike of "comic book logic" for a while now. This was a long time coming. MauLer in particular can't wrap his head around things being over-the-top and exaggerated on purpose.

The Mandalorian really is just a competently made show that has its moments of stupidity. But even those moments aren't as offensive like they are in the sequel films, it just ends up being a mediocre show. It seems like EFAP and the "Fandom Menace" just resent Disney era Star Wars and refuses to entertain the notion that they're not THAT incompetent with the brand.

Those old Marvel/DC comics are not easy to judge either, since their standards were different. It's actually really insulting that Jay picked the "The Night Gwen Stacy Died" as an example of "bad writing" in comic books since that was a massive turning point for the industry that lead to more freedom in story telling in comics, and a defining moment to Spider-Man's character.

This was pre-recorded with no audience. Not particularly interested in this one but comments seem to indicate it's the same old pattern of "debate" episodes.

I noticed that too with Doomcuck and Nerdrotic, right when it seems like they're enjoying the show, they have to say something bad about it.

Don't know anything about moviebob but hbomberguy usually says how his opinion doesnt matterand takes jabs at himself but even if that wasnt true Mauler seriously thinks he found the one true way to judge art so i doubt anyone can top that

I couldn't agree with this more. It's a fine show with dumbass moments - travelling sublight to another system in ep 2 comes to mind, how fucking long would that take - but it's perfectly enjoyable and is clearly made for the older fanbase who want gritty ESB/Shadows of the Empire type stuff.

Mauler & Co. cannot allow themselves to admit to anything positive about it because it means losing face after all they have built up.

On top of that, the George Lucas martyrdom angle they have is really fucking weird. It's like you have to love one over the other, when Lucas was as much a businessman as Bob Iger.
I also love how they go on about how Disney is destroying the dignity of the franchise when this shit was going out under Lucas's watch right before the sale:

Yeah, it's non-canon, but it's still fucking stupid.
