On the flip side: Once upon a time, I checked out MABTW from the library, and I had two problems with the book. First, it was a defective copy that was missing a couple dozen pages. Second, the prose was so unrelentingly same-y that it took me a hot minute to realize pages were missing.
Say what you will about Maddox now, but his old stuff at least had some slyness that let you know not to take anything seriously. Dick's book is like waiting for the other shoe to drop, for that moment that brings the hyperbolic sexism in for a cutting finish.
After fifteen-ish years, I don't think that other shoe's dropping anytime soon.

True, though I enjoyed it comedy is the single most subjective thing on Earth.
I did read it after Dr. Phil, so it could just be the idea that this fucking thing had enough people take it seriously that the author got on television for it.

I read MABTW back in the day and felt like the entire purpose of the book was the front cover; everything else was secondary. The content is basically a padded listicle. For what it’s worth, that’s okay because it was a troll book and it did its job. Fortunately I just downloaded a PDF of it and never paid money for it, otherwise I’d probably have a different opinion of it.
Now that it appears to be Maddax’s magnum opus it takes on a more pathetic tone. Out of all the Dick Lit authors, Dax is at the bottom as is MABTW. He never bothered to write NSFW (Not Safe For Women) because even he knew it was going to be shit, especially since he talked so much shit about Maddox’s Fuck Whales book.

Although, I have to honestly say that the simp guy who called in was absolutely amazing. When he started reading the poem, I lost my shit. It was the funniest thing that has happened on the podcast for a long time, and I would recommend skipping to that part even if you hate Dick just because it’s pure insanity. I actually feel bad for the women who have to deal with guys like that, dear God.
Overall, good enough episode, simp guy was pure kino.

I looked at the timecode for the latest episode of the Dick Show and it's 2 hours and 26 minutes long. Last week's show was 2 hours and 50 minutes long and a couple weeks ago he did a show that was over three hours. Dick, have you never heard of the old saying "Leave them wanting more?" There's a reason why comedy specials are usually an hour long. Any longer than that and it just gets exhausting.
And the Dick Show isn't the only "comedy" podcast guilty of doing this. I use to like WATP, but lately Karl has been doing a lot of 2+ hour long shows and it's a chore to listen to now. Redbar is the worst offender since a short show for Mike now of days is six hours.
Here's some advice: If you are making a video or a podcast and it's approaching Seven Samurai territory in terms of length, ask yourself "Is this better than Seven Samurai?" If the answer is no (and it inevitably will be), then it's time to start cutting shit out.
