A more certain method might have drawn suspicion (although he did brag 'I took him out' at Stalin's funeral). Whereas with his more uncertain method he's got deniability. Look at what most people say about Stalin's death. 'He was old', 'He was fat', 'He smoked fifty cigars a day' etc. Nobody thought twice about him having a stroke.

Our only real hope is foot soldiers on the ground being more cogent, and maybe some of them being spurred to organize and make their own political machines. But thanks to Trump's inaction on censorship he's made it unnecessarily difficult. Want to organize? Whoops, your Twitter and Facebook got banned. Want to try and get income? Whoops, every payment processor on Earth banned you. Want to make your own platforms? lol, prepare to have every media outlet and major corporation denounce your platform as being a hotbed of retardation and racism. You want to blame someone for this? Blame Trump. He had plenty of time before COVID and this year to try something. He didn't bother.

MI offered some real evidence. I honestly don't give a shit if Trump is re-elected or not (and as I have to constantly repeat myself, I predicted a Biden win weeks before the election), I want these issues ironed out ASAP. I can only hope people in the affected areas will keep up their disgust and get something done, politically. I'm not counting on this joke of this party 'machinery' to fucking do anything. If you didn't say this, somebody else would have because I mostly feel the same way. Trump and the GOP knew these people would, at the earliest or most fortuitous opportunity, stab them in the back, and yet they have seemingly acted like that wouldn't happen.

I would argue if that were a good thing or not. For instance, many of the news shows that try to appear as if they show "both sides" always have a token member of the opposition, like The Five's token liberal on Fox, or MSNBC's token conservative on their show (can't remember the name). That honestly pisses me off more, since

I would actually argue that the rise of 24-hour news, as well as shows like Colbert (though admittedly it might reflect my lack of attention due to how recent my references are) that harmed it more. With Colbert, the intent wasn't to inform people - it was to show superiority through "knowing more than the other side", or "look at how dumb these people are". The 24 hour news cycle caused the increase of noise-to-information, leading to more and more extreme/clickbait to get the attention in the first place. I'm reminded of, I think it was Jefferson, who said that if there were a newspaper that was facts only it would never be read.

Plus, with the fairness doctrine, who determined whether it was fair? For instance, idk if it were posted in this thread or another, but there are political positions held by the left that they don't view as political positions, but "facts of life" in a sense. For instance, BLM is viewed by the left as a non-partisan group, but on the right it's seen as completely partisan. So I'm glad he got rid of it, as I find it believable that it was just a thing (like how Twitter acts) that they used as a cover while they didn't actually follow it at all.

Edit: this isn't to excuse Reagan, but that him getting rid of that is one thing I'm okay with.

That sounds crazy and you have to wonder why nobody else spoke up until December. As for the deleting, that's a reasonable feature for the machine software to have-- then, you'd have to prove that it was used in a way that would actually upset the results, and then demonstrate for good measure why that wasn't detected upon recounting.

I'm partial to Barnes' opinion of Powell and Wood's pursuits.
