It's amazing how they completely fail to understand the connotation behind these 'jokes'. How is it bad for transwomen? Like, REALLY, how is it bad for transwomen to see men in cartoons wearing dresses? Nobody in that show ever talks trash about it (correct me if I'm wrong), it's never stated to be wrong for a man to wear a dress... if anything it'd make transwomen think "Hey, he's got a body that looks kind of like mine, but he's wearing a dress.. I could do it too!" Unless I just don't understand the ~oppression~ that's going on here.

I was, but I still occasionally get people trying to humiliate me for it. "HURR HURR YOU CALLED A HORSE DILDO BEAUTIFUL." It got worse when it found its way to TumblrInAction. At first I would respond sounding offended that they dare question the beauty of that dildo burn victim, while bolding letters to spell out a message telling them it was a joke and I was in on it. After a while, though, I just got sick of playing along. At one point the askbox link on my blog read "If you're coming here to correct me about the horse dildo post, you're going to be sorely disappointed."

While a majority of mass shooters are white (and nearly all of them are male), I think this post misses a larger point. Why is it that men, and many of these men white men, feel the need to basically go Rambo? Not all mass shootings are necessarily race or politically motivated. Many are lashing out against some perceived injustice done to them by society. Others are just looking to pull a suicide by cop and take down as many people with them. It's an interesting discussion that could lead to a lot of nuanced thought, such as why these men feel so aggrieved, why they choose that particular method, what motivates them, and how we might address this in the future to prevent more mass shootings.

But, you know, Tumblr blames it all on whitey being evil while POC and women are blameless angels, apparently.

Tumblr people aren't very good at seeing things in shades of grey.
