You do you, Null. You've already done far more than we autists could expect or deserve. You have a life to live; live it. And, should the worst occur, thanks to you and all these exceptional Kiwis. What a long, strange trip it's been. :)

Null, I respect standing up for your principles to a point but you are being a retard. If you really want to act like "muh 30s male breadwinner", then censor some gamer words and run some fucking ads. How is throwing away a growing self-owned business and becoming a Serbian cubicle drone going to help you provide for a family? How is working at some massive faceless corporation going to let you be truer to your principles than applying light censorship to a site you own and control?

If there's no future post-230 where a site you want to run can exist, then you will either be running a site you don't want to run or working for someone else who runs a site you wouldn't want to run. In the former scenario you get more money. This isn't a hard decision. Don't be a retard.

So it is actually happening. I remember him having a similar chimpout a couple of months ago when Twitter started flagging his tweets as false information. I guess the withholding of funding is actually going to make something happen.

Dude is just one massive silver spoon sucking toddler.

I mean, a massively unpopular President that lost is basically asking Congress: "Please throw the entire internet into chaos because I'm a little fucking bitch." That simply is not going to happen. Reform is more likely. Congress isn't going to scramble for a guy that needs to win 3 states in less than 2 weeks with 0 legal victories.

What I wouldn't be surprised about is basically everyone supports the bill, it gets a veto proof majority and Trump gets fucked.

You have a point here. This would be a major disruption to the tech industry for very little benefit. The more lijely outcome is the agreement on some kind of reform, or just not even taking his threats seriously

I think it's really funny how supporters of trump right now try to find an explanation in this that isn't "Trump is a petty little bitch and does whatever he and only he wants", quite funnily, this has the power to silence some of them and their views online forever.

Also you people are on drugs if you think the current freedom you have on the internet will be a thing forever. Nobody of those in power wants this, for many different reasons. It's maybe one of the few things they all can agree on. Also history has shown - freedoms taken away are never given back voluntarily by a government. Ever.

Eventually what you're doing here will be a thing that has to be taken underground, into a less than legal space. That Null doesn't want his identity attached to it is more than understandable.

E: I'll mostly miss the tech subforum. It's gotten difficult to find a tech place on the net that isn't overrun by the soy all-inclusive LBTQWTFBBQ bugmen. It's not exactly a trove of information at this point but it was getting there.

Boomers hate technology and have little to zero patience with it. It's a well known proven fact.

I've lost count as to how many times in my current and past jobs I've dealt with women in their 50's/60's who'm even after explaining anything computer related slowly and carefully to them to where a retarded monkey could fucking figure it out, it still doesn't click for them.
except as you probably know, it's people who are in their 50s and 60s who started the internet.

and idk about Trump actually being serious about something that would harm is most diehard fans and the other one doing something similar to his own.

And again if the website is no longer run by a Florida company but by say a Swiss one whose responsible person on paper is a Russian who lives in Iraq then why can the assets of an American be siezed????

I hope you're wrong in your prediction Null but if you're right then all I can say is thank you for creating one of the last few great places on the internet. Hope to see you and the other Kiwis somewhere else and good luck with everything :drink:

This website was one of my greatest joys over the past 5 years, it made me laugh and kept my interest. I'll be sad to see it go.

I do think this was going to happen, in one way or another, regardless. I am convinced that Biden will pass through hate speech laws, and it might be a blessing in disguise that our most prominate and public wrongthunk and slur usage will be done before that comes to pass.
