Big Tech supported Net Neutrality. It made it easier to keep their oligopoly by increasing regulatory barriers to entry for up-and-coming competitors.

Hell, that's pretty much how all regulation works; it doesn't discourage bad practices by big business, it just allows said bad practices to continue as long as Uncle Sam gets his pound of flesh.
