She read the thread. She was in the discords. She watched the show. She was well aware he tried to beat someone up when he was drunk and went to jail for it. If she didn't think it would happen again, when she could see him getting wasted every night on stream, I guess love is blind. There is such a thing as dark humor or making fun of yourselves to try to cope. It's quite different for your grandpa to put out that he thinks you are a demon baby - even if it is a joke. The number of years this kid is going to need therapy is breathtaking.

Kevin Smith used to constantly tell jokes about how fat he is. When someone finally asked him why he did that, he said that it's because he was sensitive about it, and believed that if he made fun of himself for it FIRST, then other people would be less inclined to do it. It actually worked.
I think they're doing a variation of this, or at the very least, they're deciding to own the situation and laugh about it instead of getting upset.

I'm going to give my probably unpopular hot take. I think he's just sucking up to Godwinson who popularized the 'demon baby' stuff. He flattered him on twitter and Godwinson teased a Vickers Christmas special. I don't know if he's generally entertained by him or thinks that interview went well and Faith came home because of it or it's the accent or the nobility, but Vickers wants to be in his good graces.

I just remembered how weak and resigned Ralph was when the police came to have a chat with him and I realised it probably went through his head that Faith went ahead and pressed charges against him. If Vickers keeps alluding to legal action Ralph is just going to be shitting himself while he IRL streams, waiting for the ball to drop in case she actually regains enough sanity and spite to do it while he's streaming.
