The main issue with starting off-sites for KF discussion is that a lot of people are wary of having their identity connected to the farms and Discord really doesn't make it easy to manage multiple accounts simultaneously. I mean, I'm down for it because I don't give a fuck but it's a legit concern.

Are there even any Vtuber discord servers that aren't total cancer or cringefests? The only ones I'm in are the AtoLive server to lurk and watch for drama, and Deluta's fan server to keep up with her (and that doesn't even count as a Vtuber discord since, well, she ain't one anymore).

I'm almost tempted to join Holoslaves just to see how fucktacular it is. A buddy of mine told me it's VERY cliquey and shitty, I may have to test the waters myself....for however long I can stand it.

Also, as an aside to what Salte said earlier, it's kinda weird to me to have servers where the kayfabe has to be up at all times. I mean, I get it, because some people aren't into the 'real' stuff but to me it's all part of the experience, and adds extra layers of fun and intrigue to the personas/characters. So it'd just be torturous and maybe even, dare I say, boring to me if we could only talk about what we physically see on the streams/socials.

Nothing against you guys, but I made an email specifically so that nothing would track back to this site. I discuss chuubas on other sites too, but here I can flit in and out of kayfabe. I just like to make sure my rats are cooked before I drop them off.

The devs are chill and visited her chat when she was still doing MD, the publisher is the one that pulled permissions.

I tuned into her stream tonight and she was drawing NSFW art of the Vshojo crew and discussing who had the best ass. Guess I should've expected that given the rest of the bunch, but it would at least be nice to have one of them that wasn't a total degenerate.

Reddit's issue is that anything related to the farms will get nuked out of existence by the site admins; if a general KF sub were to be made and run by KF users themselves, there wouldn't be any trouble unless the site admins cracked down on it.

Discord is a different story so you can just start your own server there but you'd have to recruit all the actives from this thread to there, and I'm not sure if people would want their discord associated with KF in general unless the server scrubbed any known reference of our presence here and was named something like "Chuubas" or some shit. Difference there being that there's no real way for Discord itself to crack down on shit like that.

It's mostly the server culture and the fact that many of the dedicated hololive discords, including the main "unofficial" one (YAGOO has shown up there exactly once and the entire server basically nutted itself) may or may not actually be frequented by staff and possibly talent under an alias; it's joked about in some of the servers but on paper, none of the fan discords are "official" and their userbases are absolutely fucking massive that maintaining kayfabe is kind of a necessity. The main one that I spend a lot of time on is Mori's Realm, which is dedicated to...well, no extra points for guessing correctly. Aside from some problem users (some guy posts there as Nyuu and is the embodiment of cringe) the entire server is probably the most relaxed one of the EN crew simply because most of Calliope's fans are about as old as she is, frequently older, and are thoroughly done with all the cliquey high school bullshit. Granted, I have absolutely no fucking clue how old Karen is but I'm assuming she's at least in her late 20's or possibly early 30's, but most people on the server are around that age, at least mentally.

Man, this is my favorite place to talk about chuubas. I'm in a small handful of servers, but they're all filled to the brim with wannabe indies talking over each other and getting pissy if they don't get the attention or viewership they think they deserve. I browsed the lolcow thread, but they're not super interesting and anytime Kiara does anything it incites a shitton of sperging. The only thing I could think would be PMing a discord link to each other so there's nothing directly obviously linking people to the farms, but that's getting to autism levels.

Hopefully Null's just blackpilling because Trump's a moron and this repeal bullshit doesn't actually go anywhere, for more reasons than just me personally liking my shitty gossip forum experience.

Status report on this for people who don't want to read the 230 thread (I don't blame you, it's a clusterfuck) or aren't American:

There's basically 0 chance of it passing tacked on to the NDAA. Riders sometimes get added because it's the last major bill of the session but they're usually small procedural stuff or discretionary spending on pet projects. They're never something as drastic as amending laws and congressional mores simply aren't going to allow something like that. Trump's intention is to veto it until he gets his way but the NDAA is such an uncontroversial bill that it probably already has the 2/3rds support it needs to override a presidential veto, especially if Trump's antics get enough congress critters to show up and vote for it.

The House officially recesses on the 10th, so there's not enough time for a bill to be drafted to do what Trump wants (which is why he's aiming to tack it on to the NDAA), and once that date passes, it's over. Congress won't reconvene until the 3rd of January (at which point it'll be a new Congress) and will only really engage in procedural and emergency action until the 20th (when the presidential inauguration happens). So after 10 Dec, Trump doesn't really have any more routes of action.

Biden has spoken out about his dislike of section 230 but it's unlikely to be his top priority in the first year, especially with rona going around and large-scale economic stimulus needing to be negotiated. He's also spent most of his life serving in congress, so any 'reform' he pushes is probably going to be anemic at best.

If the site gets closed, it'll probably be more down to jersh's quarter-life crisis than section 230 being repealed.
