I wanted this game as a kid. I remember I even circled it in a Christmas catalogue one year.

Thank god it never released if it's anything like Superman 64.
The PS1 beta is... eh. Much better than the N64 game.

The collector who originally had it posted on the lolcow congregation forum that was Aseembler Games that he broke it to spite Internet bullies who wanted him to dump it.

game looks pretty good for a ps1 3d licensed game at least compared to shit like batman and robin

So Titus got fucking gypped? How in the world did this PS1 game get canceled and yet they were expected to crap out a game on the N64? Was there just no way to properly port it over to the N64 system?

TL;DW - WB did everything in their power to fuck with Titus. They purposely wanted Titus to fail because they didn't think they were a good developer.

To my knowledge this was being developed near the end of S64's time, this was what they were trying to redeem themselves as after a shitton of bad ideas from DC (unsurprisingly) for what a S:TAS game could be with shit like making it a sim city simulator with superman as a mayor.
also what SSF2T said

People are just now noticing it I guess, or some e celeb on Youtube noticed it and started talking about a HIDDEN GEM
No, IIRC it was the actual ex-Titus developers rediscovering it on Twitter and making it known that the prototype had leaked. Neither them or DC really seem to give a fuck since it's a project that's been dead for 20+ years that was a clusterfuck during development.

The only superhero games that were ever truly good were the PS1 Spider-Man game, the PS2 Punisher game, and the ones that were made by Capcom.

Change my mind.

If the drop date was 6/22 why is this just making the headlines now?
June 22, 2000 is the build date of the prototype, not when it was dumped online.

Originally, the plan was that BigSky Software, a subsidiary of Titus, was going to port the game over to the PSX, though after the universally panned reception of the N64 game, it was decided they they would completely retool the game for the PSX. Things went smoothly for the most part, and the game went as far as accepting preorders from retailers and even being licensed and issued a product code by Sony. Around the same time however, they had lost the license for Superman from WB, but continued development without their assistance, in an effort to surprise them with a finished product and get the license back. Unfortunately for Titus, they were unsuccessful in doing so, forcing the game to be scrapped.
