Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

I'll include you in my prayers tonight. Best of luck!

As far as the Bible reading goes, I picked up a study one that has commentary, the reading is slower but I definitely learn more and hopefully miss less.
I know folks don't have good opinions of TV preachers, but I have the Joyce Meyer teaching bible with notations and such. Her book, "Battlefield of the Mind" helped me significantly to tackle, and beat, a major issue in my life. Thank you for the well wishes, and I'm going to make a point to open up the Good Book again this evening before bed, and make that a habit.

In the UK (well, specifically England) the Nursing Union have kicked off massivelyover staff being used as guinea pigs. The patient safety sheet staff were given about the jab said clearly "women TTC or pregnant should not have the vaccine, we cannot guarantee it will not adversely affect fertility as no studies have been done". Staff have kicked off gigantically (not that this will make it into the papers) about being used as guinea pigs, especially in light of the Swine Flu vaccine scandal and how people were physically harmed over that, staff lined up, told "you have to have this, you'll be fired if you do not", not given any concrete information about risks or benefits) and now NHS staff will not be "first in the queue" for the jab. They're going for the older people and staff who work in care homes (though nobody of the three I know who work in elder care) is wanting it, they've said they and their colleagues will resist.

UK Government has lied about how many doses have made it to the UK. Hancock, Jonson, Whitty et al. all ignoring people demanding they get it live on TV (not that they would, they'd be getting a placebo, we all know that) and people are starting to kick off.

Went and did grocery shopping this morning. it was busy, but probably 50% people, staff and customers alike not in masks. The radio - especially LBC are doubling down HARD on the fear and propaganda. Interesting times, frens. Oh, and it's snowing too. Yaldy. Just what I want, to have to wade through panic buying morons desperate for that last loaf of bread.
There will be two major loopholes to this: 1. Any documentation of previous allergy to vaccine (lie if needed, just get it in writing.) and 2. The fact it only has a provisional emergency use approval from the MHRA, rather than a full commercial approval.
Any employer is on very, very dodgy ground if an employer has written proof of a paper trail that says ‘this vaccine has only emergency use approval and I will not take it.’ Or ‘I have previous adverse reaction to vaccine.’
The ‘no evidence on fertility’ thing is standard disclaimer, because this hasn't has ANY long term testing at all.
If anyone can get hold of the package insert then a read of that will give a list of exclusions as well - just make sure you’re in one or more of those categories (TTC would cover anyone female under 45 easily) and you have it in writing. Don’t do it loudly or HR will make an example by forcing it.

Mind if I message you about this please? I don't want to derail too heavily, but there's something you mentioned in the first point which applies to me and if you wouldn't mind, I'd appreciate your advice on it please?

I can listen to Joyce Meyer on TV but never could get into her books.
But yes, DO go outside, if only to watch birds. Remind yourself that outside exists. It will help.

To counter the admittance that I occasionally watch a TV preacher I will tell you all to go watch Hannah and Jake's The Bible Reloaded youtube channel. Smart people talking about stuff. Also Hannah used to be known as Hugo but even though the desire to be a ladyperson happened, s/he's still cool as hell.

Yeah no problem.
I’m just seeing if I can find anything on them using pregnant women and all I’m getting is concerns that the spike protein is fairly close structurally to syncitin, which may be where the ‘sterilisation vaccine’ stuff is coming from. If you create antibodies that react to syncitin you’d be reducing fertility a fair bit, and it’d be very dangerous to a pregnancy.
I have no data to make an assessment of the claim, but I can see why people’s hackles are up over it.

They'll be gone by March at the latest. Once the vaccine rollout begins in earnest there will be too much public pressure against them.
I’m waiting to see under what circumstances the next lockdown happens. Because the laws and acceptability are all there now. What next event is going to trigger a lockdown? I’m also amused/horrified that the USA is talking about vaccine cards for those who have had them. Clearly these are nothing like voter ID, which is racist. These are non-racist ones. The difference is stark, or something. All those lovely draconian powers are there now and people have shown they will bend over and lube up for the state,

(Back to the sterilisation thing, I’m wondering if people have misunderstood what ‘sterilising immunity’ means ? )

Hysterical doomers aside, people are fucking sick of this. There's already talk of more lockdowns in January in my country but they're not something I can't see getting a second wind. Compliance during the second one dropped massively compared to the first, I don't know anyone who wasn't breaking the rules as much as they thought they could get away with. Masks might hang on longer because they're less obtrusive, unless you're wearing one for a ten hour shift in a hot kitchen it's not that much trouble to throw one on where it's legally required.

"Until there's a vaccine" has been the definite end point everyone has been talking about for months. Well, now there is a vaccine.

Biden wants "just" 100 days of masks...people do realize that's over 3 months, right? Wanna wear a mask until March or April fine, but don't act like it's anything other than what it is.

A big problem I've always had with the stuff the Democrats tend to do is that they treat the public like a bunch of ADHD-addled toddlers. If the public complains about something it's okay, they'll just jingle their keys and suddenly *poof* the problem isn't being complained about any more. It makes me sick how well this technique works on grown adults and has made me more of a cranky old hermit than ever.

In my country, they're saying that even with the vaccine, we "might" have to wear the mask and keep "muh distance" at least until late 2021.
Pray tell, what exactly is the point of this vaccine if the powers that be insist on continuing the old practices?

I mean, they only spent months hyping this thing up as our "savior", so trying to backtrack now sort of defeats the point.

The point is to create the infrastructure around registering and tracking everyone, getting everyone a card or digital ID that is capable of being linked to your behaviour, or biology, and normalise that behaviour score dictating what level of society you can be allowed to interact with.

Just like how "flatten the curve" somehow became "any infections or deaths at all are unacceptable and a sign of failure."

Yeah, lockdowns don't even seem to be having much of an effect anymore. e.g., Northern Ireland where they locked down hard and it's apparently doing fuck all.

In my county we have a mask mandate. That's it. We're not seeing cases explode because people are wearing masks properly and being smart about shit. Personal responsibility (rather than state enforcement) can work.
