BTW. Black Roman Warriors weren't a thing. Rome allowed black people to live there but didn't let them in their legions/armies.

The point I'm trying to make is that, this whole "ANTI RACIST" Propaganda should've been about forgotten historical figures from all types of backgrounds and how American governments should take funding education seriously because there are outdated textbooks, and missing historical figures being taught to a new generation of kids.....

Google is doing a better job at educating people about historical figures than Cartoon Netwoke.....

All this shit is bad enough on it's own, but as you pointed out there's this other pandering element where all they're doing it teaching the same history and going "And The Blacks were also there!" It's all lip service. No effort whatsoever to actually teach anything new or cool or interesting. Just the same old shit with an extra sprinkling of patronizing on top.

I agree with your points. When I first saw it I felt it was entirely too buzzwordy for a short filler bit meant for kids to digest between their mindless cartoons. Pearl just wordvomited the whole time, and only mentioned one Black figure while erroneously stating there were Black Roman solidiers, which leads me to believe very little research went into the information put in outside of maybe someone seeing one tweet that was like "DID YOU KNOW? A black guy invented the lightbulb!" and then the script was written.

I feel it would've benefitted more if it was led from the perspective of multiple different kids. Maybe someone pointing out the fact about the lightbulb guy, then some other kid pointing out a fact, maybe even a girl mentioning a prominent female figure, and so on. With something like this geared towards kids, this does little to spur genuine interest in learning their history and more to just stir up discourse. The adults in charge of actually making the textbooks aren't going to be watching this, so Pearl is just yelling at no one.

I don't often hear about the "braids are black only" argument probably because it's the dumbest take of them all since every country, ethnicity has their own braided hairstyles and braided hair is one of the earliest of hairstyles (even cavemen's did it back in the days, the "Venus of Willendorf" statue has an early braided hairstyle as well).

Anyway the dreadlock argument is pretty dumb too, anyone who has long hair and doesn't take care of it can have dreadlock. Of course if you want prettier ones you have to work for them but it's not easy and takes a lot of time to properly maintain it and while (in my opinion) it looks cool I don't really recommend the hairstyle.
