It's the internet, it's only natural to feel doubtful.

Here however, I really get the feeling that this is, in fact, the genuine article under a sockpuppet. More so since he's dodging all the important questions.

It's a fine balance. I think several of the mods err on the side of over-curating/deleting too much shit. Then again, if I were a mod, I'd probably err by letting threads "go off the rails" (see what I did there?).

I feel comfortable speaking for the vast majority of people here when I say we appreciate the wit and insight you've brought to the thread. We still "want [your] help." One of the mods just thought that -- in one particular instance -- you took things too far.

In summary: :heart-full: to you. And :julay: to Len Shaner.

The moderation here is often inconsistent, but also consider what kind of forum this is. If you're going to get salty cuz a post got deleted, you're gonna have a bad time. For example, I got a post deleted for basically being a dumb post in one thread, but some time later I posted almost the exact same thing, verbatim, in a different thread and no one batted an eye.

Sometimes I think if there are too many shitposts in a thread in a row then the mods will delete a portion of the later ones and leave the rest in tact, presumably because "fuck it that's good enough". I have no evidence of this off the top of my head and I don't think it's official policy per se but, again, consider what kind of forum this is.

I'm not generally one to asspat but I actually do really appreciate @ASU 's contributions, especially to the Iconoclast thread.




Now if that post I made that I mentioned above gets deleted by the time I check back in.... well, I'll actually probably laugh really hard.


On topic: Len is a very funny lolcow and I am glad his privet detective has decided to join us with his deep, thoughtful insights and many bon mot.

"Dox" is internet lingo for "documents", ie, personal information such as addresses, and putting them on the forums is one of our relatively few no-no's.

And "getting angry at lolcows" is discouraged cuz if lolcows actually make you angry then you probably have autism (with a couple exceptions). It is generally expected you won't be too aggressive with your insults toward lolcows.

Thats funny........with the 2600+ posts about Lenny Shaner..........about 1/3 of these posts are about him in a negative way.

Don`t get me wrong.......I hate Leonard F Shaner Jr. more than anyone else.

And let's not forget that @The_Knight_Rider/Len brought this onto himself. 'Sides, most of the shitposts on this thread are his, I wouldn't be surprised if they did get deleted somewhere down the line.

Eh, everyone makes that one lousy post from now and then, the thing that differentiates us from the Shaners of the world is we can shrug our shoulders and do better next time, instead of making animal sounds, twenty sockpuppet accounts and threatening to call in a privat detektive.

I've read all 135 (as of this post) pages of this thread and goddamn.
CWC Pics and this are easily my favorite threads and what makes it better is that the manchild of the hour himself has graced us with his presence. Thanks @The_Knight_Rider , I'll be here eating up every post.
Applause also to @Pocket_Sand! and our other new RR friends who have actual insight to the rail community and personal stories.
