Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

I just sat with my skinny boney ass on water closet and read the message board of CDP shareholders meeting from last year. Surprisingly I have stumbled upon the information that CDP in plans for 2016-2021 had TWO AAA GAMES TO BE PUBLISHED. Cyberpunk took them like what... 8 years of development and the latter they want to make in less than a year? Yeah, good luck on that.

Source on the Andromeda claims:
Digital Scapes is a company with like a dozen employees in them if you check the LinkedIn, over half of which are ex-Techland polaks and the rest of them being random people from BioWare, Relic, etc.

there's like one ex-BioWare guy who works there and the only Mass Effect that dude worked on was the first and second one, doomposters just took that mention of BioWare note and implied the entirety of that BioWare division behind Andromeda must've fucked off to Warsaw to inspire more OH NO NO posting.

Look guys, modeling thousands of 3d penises is hard (heh). I'm a professional 3d penis artist. It takes 8+ years and millions of dollars to make the perfect video game schlong. CDPR didn't have time to get rid of bugs. The majority of the employees created junk after junk. Also the P in their name doesn't mean what you think it does.

Speaking of Dying light... WTF happened to Dying Light 2?
Was delayed "indefinitely" may or may not have to get rid of everything Avellone worked on before he got canceled. The total lack of new teasers, trailers, or new content tells me that there is trouble, and a few claims (source: trust me bro) state that the devs don't know where to take the game. Those claims would explain the total lack on any new content for a game that was slated for a release earlier this year.
This fucking sucks bro

So what should I buy instead of this POS? I heard 13 Sentinels is good.

It's excellent, but also essentially one half is a visual novel and the other a quite enjoyable RTS connected to it. It's up you if you're into that, but I think it's still on sale for 29.99 which is more than your money's worth for it.

Sidenote: the mod I suggested doesn't change much of the core gameplay; it is mostly a graphics/aesthetics mod. And how!

They claim it "overhauls gameplay" but by and large they are quality of life tweaks and add more realism/challenge.

I would consider it acceptable for a first-time player.

I never really got into STALKER. You spend most of your time fighting human dudes, the monsters that show up arn't really that atmospheric (even compared to contemporaries like OG Halflife), the super special magic radiation items never seemed that useful.

In the end its just a regular retro shooter IMO.

Yeah, I like the movie but I prefer Stand Alone Complex (I didn't watch the Netflix crap). The second movie (Innocence) was way too pretentious.
You're not missing anything of value. The first two episodes have bad guys literally screaming "Death to the one percent!" and The Major saying terrorists are caused by toxic masculinity.

Genuine question, did anyone really believe this game was going to be good? Ever since I saw the aesthetic, I had pretty much called that it was going to be agenda pushing horse shit.
I did, and I still do.

All the Shazam posts don't bother me, because they come from the same audience that said the Xbox 360 Syndicate game was a travesty for being a FPS, and said that Resident Evil 2 Remake was a broken, unplayable mess because Crowbcat couldn't shoot through a certain piece of glass in the demo. I liked both games.

The glitch compilations are concerning. It's unfortunate, more bugs than I expected, but I don't see it as much different from Fallout 4 or New Vegas on release. I don't trust most of the opinions out there at the moment because of ulterior motives. The press want the game to fail for not bending the knee. The streamers are pandering to the naysayers. I'll wait and see how it shakes out.

Edit: For me what killed STALKER is that the guns didn't shoot where they were pointed. As if an assault rifle has an effective range of 15 feet, unless the AI had it, in which case it was laser accurate.

The relics are insanely useful if you can figure out how to get some of them. No bleeding, fast stamina regen, and elemental immunity are sick.

The human enemies are crafty and hard to kill. Very challenging AI. Hopefully you played it on the hardest difficulty. And the mutant enemies are best avoided fuck them they are strong.

I'll have to check this out and play BS: 2 then.
I can also vouch for BS: 2 being fun as hell and worth a playthrough, It's a sequel that doubled down in the place that it matters,The gameplay,Its fun as hell having a drill in one hand and a minigun in other,Or just having two different plasmids at once, lots of new gameplay opportunities,And the story isn't too bad either for the "corporate mandated sequel" nature that this game is

Ironsights, my nig.

My favorite thing about SoC is the degree in which obtaining a scope changes the game. It is very realistic.

Fucking sad that this game is a giant steaming turd but wow this entire scenario is amazing.
Everything just keeps getting better and better. It's like a dream.
They hired the mass effect andromeda people? Dream logic :story:

@Ruin is fucking right. This is the Xavier: Renegade Angel game. Now all they have to do is actually put it on PS2 and the circle is complete.

I just ordered a PS1 with a copy of Xenogears (along with a SNES, Sega Saturn and OG Xbox). I have a backlog long enough to last me a lifetime. I'm done with this pozzed industry.
It's me. I'm sitting in my room playing game boy advance. Nobody can stop me from having fun.

Do I look like someone who would play on anything but the hardest difficulty? The AI wasn't spectacular, everyone dies if you shoot them in the head a couple of times, and being an old game you can save anywhere and thus just brute force your way through any real difficulty. There was maybe two places I got really caught on, not counting getting lost because old shooters are annoying to navigate.

I just shake my head at all these YouTubers who are going on and on about what their dream options will be in terms of "romancing" in this game.
About things they'll say and how they'll behave, etc.
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but I have yet to see a preview from someone with a balanced life who doesn't go on about this.
Don't know about anyone else but a preview from someone like that would more suit the other elements I'm interested in.

I take it you've never been to the old bioware forums then, or tumblr in it's glory days.
going apeshit which terrible character to bang is par the course, not even the worst weebshit waifufags are that bad (all they really want it to headpat a pure animu girl)

Not to derail, but I have always hated the idea that somehow Hello games redeemed themselves after "fixing" No Man's Sky after years of patches and DLC. Sean Murray lied to people's faces, faked footage, when on national television, and made up shit. This wasn't a case of a developer having to make some hard choices and scale back their ambitions and cut a ton of stuff in a desperate last attempt to get something published, these devs were caught lying about major features from some of the earliest presentations

Imagine Audi sells you a car and talks about how great it and how many gizmos it has. You buy the car and are shocked to find that they have only given you the chassis, but don't worry! Audi engineers will come round every fortnight to add more parts so that in a year or two, you have a car similar to the one you wanted. Imagine everyone on the internet then starts praising Audi because "at least they didn't leave you with the chassis and run off with your money".

The games industry is one the most fucked, immoral, and anti-consumer industries and the only reason it got this way is because "gamers" are retards that will consume any grey mediocre slop as long as there is a big enough hype train and praise companies as heroes because they at least used some spit before fucking them

Rant over.

>car analogy

if everyone would buy shit, especially videogames, based on rational decisions instead of hype, the market would implode. that's why car analogies never fucking work, especially with video games, because most people don't buy something that costs several thousand dollars on a whim.
should we hold video games to a higher standard? definitely, but when you can buy that literally disposable shit for cheap and it's gets patched day 1 via forced online, good luck with that. context matters.

it's easy to blame todd's kouhai sean murray when everybody everywhere hyped themselves up so hard with "NMS will rival star citizen in scope and features" - by a 10 guy indie studio that did mobile tier games before. fuck half the shit reddit claimed after NMS launch "sean murray totally lied about" was stuff he either never said or never gave a clear answer about, and stuff that gets cut or postponed constantly, for various reasons, hardly ever gets communicated, not even by global companies with a dedicated marketing department and the funds to shill it everywhere. that's why I give that nerdy guy out of this depth that just wants to make a game, and ultimately delivered what he promised and more at no additional cost, some slack.

at some point you have to wonder if people don't want to get shit on, because you'd expect at some point they'd learn when companies constantly take your money and run. how's darkspore these days? and star citizen still rakes in cash hand over fist and a big reason this thread exists is to laugh at the people that think cp2077 will be the game to end all games where they'll spend the rest of their life in.
