Sounds like an HSTS, so that's probably why he's not an absolutely insufferable asshole who screams "Trans rights!"Honestly, she asked that we use female pronouns (so sure yeah), doesn’t act oppressed, not sure about female spaces, never ran into her in the ladies room but the rest of the office is coed. She isn’t interested in women, has a boyfriend, I work with this person so haven’t seen anything sexual. She dresses very modestly and usually wears long hair up or back. No garish makeup, just a natural look.
She does have a background in STEM, so we assume that the lack of hormones/ surgery comes from knowing that it’s not the safest bet, or as she puts it “everyone has stuff they don’t like about their bodies, mines just a bit more obvious”
Truthfully, it’s not my place to change her. She’s a good worker so I’m not gonna act like an asshole. So long as she does her job who cares?
Lucky you!
I feel like HSTS become HSTS due to heteronormativity and the need to blend into a "normal" society, despite the normalization of homosexuality in the modern era.
Or, as I previously mentioned, he could just be into drag, like a small handful of homosexual males (which is what I'm thinking since he's not planning on taking hormones or getting surgery. Those who do drag may ask to be called women but always acknowledge that they're not. If you say, "but you're male", they won't deny it). A little bizarre to those looking in from the outside, but nothing that hasn't been seen before.
And if this is the case, your friend is just a dragqueen and not an MtF (as transitioning would require the planning of taking hormones and/or getting surgery, imho, otherwise you're not "transitioning").
