To add to that, Wu keeps dancing around the watershed moment of releasing his Sonichu, as once that happens and it tanks, his influence evaporates, and he knews it, which is why Wu is doing all this foot dragging and trying desperately to find another SJW hot button issue to hop on to stay relevant.
I'm just waiting for the game to come out and see how many people buy it, and then dump it for a refund just out of spite.

I don't cater to SJW's in my own work and don't have a lot of exposure to them outside of the Farms, so this whole thing doesn't necessarily concern me, but... I'm always of the mindset that anyone can be taken down given the right circumstances. People are still people and especially when they're as delusional as Wu, they'll leave things along the way and eventually the bubble will pop. It's the waiting that's torture... It's like being five years old and it's Christmas Eve.

1. Already in Level 34?

Huh. Wu runs Gunslinger. Color me surprised.

Anyway, 34 is easy as shit thanks to House of Wolves. You don't even need to raid.

Primary: Hard Light
Special: Vestian Dynasty
Heavy: The Culling

Helmet: Fear Eater
Armor: Lucky Raspberry
Arms: Kellhunter's Rally
Legs: Kellhunter's Path
Cloak: Kellhunter's Cloak

Wu's gear is entirely conventional. Hard Light was sold by Xur this week and given that Wu has it comparatively low level it's likely a recent acquisition. Vestian Dynasty is a quest reward. She's a pretty obvious destiny newcomer with no older equipment, bounty exotics, or unique armor.

One quirk is that she has Lucky Raspberry, which not only is a mediocre piece of armor, but designed for a Bladedancer. Wu's using a Gunslinger, for reasons unclear.

I have never heard of this John Oliver person or his research team before. Any info about them, and their research on GamerGate?
John Oliver is an American-British comedian who has a show much like Jon Stewarts, in that he mocks the news. I'm unsure of what he did with gamergate, but I know that once he hits an issue, he really tears into it. For example his videos on FIFA.

He used Gamergate only as an entry point into the topic of online harassment and revenge porn. But the crazy face of Wu has been presented to a broader audience.

So Wu spent a long time talking about GG but only a few seconds made it into the show? I suspect that the Last Week Tonight people realized that Wu was totally nuts.

Could be worse, Wu could have been ole Zoe Quinn who legitimately did get targeted by internet harassment and didn't even get a mention. (Though one could posit that perhaps Quinn did the cool thing and refused to capitalize on/trivialize her claimed trauma by putting it on a comedy show?)

Zoe isn't known for any singular, easy to point to instance of harassment (just a shitload of general harassment) while Anita has that shooting threat and Wu has the dubious rape/murder threat in the that started her whole... thing.

Any chance Lucky Raspberry was her guaranteed exotic for completing prison of elders? I got 2 thunderlords and purifier robes doing that. Also got Hawkmoon yesterday in a drop. :)
Also, no right thinking gamer would use hard light right now. Auto rifles are garbage in their current state.

Well, technically, Zoe did have that time that 'wizardchan doxxed her and harrassed her', but that stopped being talked about right about when WC's owner posted proof that all those harrassing messages just happened to come from an IP that matched the WHOIS of Zoe's own websites.

Oliver is a British John Stewart, in essence.

That Hard Light and Lucky Raspberry are purportedly, according to a friend, both from her very first PoE chest, which basically guarantees an exotic. I still gotta do that mish with my Warlock later. Here's hoping for any of the Exotic RLs, and In before fucking Universal Remote/Plan C, which I have had seven of.

TL;DR, he ran a long thing wherein Wu and Sarkeesian flailed around about their victimhood for 20 minutes, entirely using old footage. Both of them cited discredited shit like the USU threat and Street Racing Incident. Gamergate was never mentioned by name and the entire thing seemed to be from a viewpoint of "THIS IS VERY SERIOUS, SO LET'S JUST SMILE AND NOD AS THESE CRAZIES TALK AT US." I didn't think it was all that damning, but then, I'm of the belief that Gamergate was long ago excused from having to give a shit about what the mainstream press thinks.

Oh, wow I think I've seen this guy round, but I thought Brianna meant a legit research team. Not a fucking comedy show.

Great work, Brianna. I'm sure we will end sexism in the video game industry by laughing about it. Hell, it was barely even about her at all. I'm sure she is secretly mad she didn't get more spotlight.

Though the rest of the cases of online harassment were legitimately shitty to know that it happens. It just didn't need Anita's and Brianna's faces on it.

Gamergate wasn't mentioned once? Calling it now, Bri-bri knows the whole "game developer" shtick is running dry and is moving into a more general feminist (professional victim) role. When her game is out and GG begins to fade she will have to relay on that instead.

What makes it extra annoying is that it doesn't take any digging or effort to see what a disgusting, self-serving human being Brianna Wu really is and yet they still included her with legitimate victims.

Guys, set your faces for "laugh your asses off" mode:

@Jaimas, no need to worry about Wu's bullshit suddenly vanishing, I'd still keep a copy of the Inspirefest video, but that's one of the pieces of drivel being
touted as a "victory" against Gamergate.

Lol, no.
Shouldn't this go in the Ryulong thread instead?

Let's be fair, the first critical site you'd probably get in a Google search for "brianna wu" is ED, and a lot of people would be pissed off that it outs Wu at the very start (even though she's obviously transsexual) and it's hardly unbiased.
