Also, I would imagine ebay doesn't let you have alts to dodge bad ratings. Or is the 10 item limit a carry-over from his other account?

You can indeed have multiple ebay accounts. However, each requires a separate email address. You also have in input credit card information. If you have a serious enough infraction with that card on file, they will use your credit card to shut down your other accounts, not your username. As bad of a seller as Chris is, he's not committed any truly serious infractions that would require this. The 10 listings max is a restriction on "fresh" new accounts. He's probably only making a account to start "fresh" with his new "fresh" identity.

Fresh. Say/type it enough times and it loses it's meaning. I think I'm suffering from semantic satiation after reading Chris' fucking bullshit.

He's started a brand new account rather than change the name on the old one, which would have preserved his feedback score and join date.

There are limits on what new accounts (or accounts that haven't sold much of a certain item type) can list, so it could just be what every new seller would come up against.

Alternately, I expect eBay automatically identify new accounts with a significant number of details identical to existing accounts (and in all likelihood Chris used the exact same details). From a systems point of view it's trivial to do, and it would let them identify people trying to wipe the slate, as Chris has apparently attempted to do.
Well, I'm wondering if this action is being explicitly permitted because Chris reused the same paypal, so they're carrying over the limitations and letting him use a new name.

But yeah, nevermind, as you note, apparently the limit is just the nature of every new ebay account.

Countdown until a ween reports Chris...

Until official confirmation, this is probably just weeening.

EDIT: and, as always, the rip-offs by weens are far superior than the original:

I think it'd be totally in character for eBay to figure out Chris is trying to escape bad feedback, but let him do it anyway, albeit with all the restrictions from his old account. This way they have the chance to get some money...

The only problem is that he created the new account to avoid the selling restrictions he has in the original account (bad ratings?), not only to start "fresh" with a new identity (good move chris ), but they don't allow this. They usually delete your new account (if they noticed it, sure, but ebay can be a really pain in the ass if they want)

That's all correct, but since his new account has, by default, the same restrictions as his old account, I seriously doubt ebay will take any action on it. Paypal is a separate company now, and they have their own policies and restrictions independent of ebay. They're the ones who have to issue refunds. He's far more likely to face issues from them due to buyer complaints than he is from ebay. For reference, I've been on both sides of buyer complaints in the past 6 months. Ebay and paypal both heavily favor the buyer, not the seller.

Item Description:
"Straight from the creator and artist, Christian Weston Chandler (myself), you may now have a more current headshot photograph of the artist, complete with his personal autograph and optional message. NO LOCAL PICKUP AVAILABLE, at the Personal Risk of myself, the Original Creator and Artist."

What the hell? Lazy simply copy/pastes? I need to know what I'm buying. Signed "Christine" or "Christian?" If you do buy one, just complain that you expected the opposite of the name signed and demand a refund.

I'm somewhat surprised that most of the portrait photos are the ones recycled from the last time Chris sold signed head shots, you would think that being a full blown female with a lesbian soul all the photos would be more feminine.

Then I remember that in the end this is Chris after all, and half-assing things is the norm.

That's what I was wondering. I guess we'll see if the 10 item restriction goes away as his account loses the "new account" status.

  • Agree
Reactions: Le Bateleur
So wait, he's trying to sell more of his old self-portraits from before the Lesbian-Soul Saga? I'm a little surprised he didn't make a new set featuring his new identity.

I know he's selling his Vanity Fair cover (I can never look at that one without laughing.), but still.
