Their population is 1.393 billion and nearly half of them(43%) (600 mln) are not able to rent rooms to live in, or to even eat. If we compare it to someplace like USA, where even in poverty you can eat, USA has about a billion less people, and their poverty is only at 10.5%.
USA has been tightening it's (legal) immigration policies since 2016. By this point it's almost impossible to immigrate into USA. Clearly if more people meant more money, they would be let in.

I almost believe the "everything we need" bit, but you definitely don't have lots of what you want.
