General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Someone made fanmade Haachama music, and now I'm trying to find an image that works best with the image attached.

I woke up to this and it was beautiful lol so many moralfags on twitter sperging out about it and demanding YT to take action. Who gives a fuck? They allow Cardi B and Miley Cyrus music videos that are more pornographic than this.
Is that what the video is? Didn’t that Melody girl already do that with a much more obvious action of what was happening?
Yeah but Melody actually started out as a hentai streamer and keeps the legit porno material on chaturbate so everyone knows what she's all about. I can't help but feel like at least some of the dramaposting and moralfagging going on about this incident is simps getting big mad that their waifu might have actually got fucked as well as unknown "vtubers" trying to insert themselves into drama to get retweets and notices.
By the way, is it weird to want to be a part of Hololive, not necessarily because of the clout and numbers but because you genuinely want to be friends with the girls (and guys) there?
I wouldn't say it's weird but at the same time I'd never want to take it on as an actual job in the way these folks do. Sure they make good money in donos and subs and such but it seems like a lot of time management which I hate.
11/10 would let elite shrine maiden Miko burn down my minecraft house

Didn't Matsuri recently do a collab stream with Nene, Kanata and Suisei though?

Well, i guess collab streams are not necessarily reflective of real life. But i do hope she's still close friends with Luna at least
It's mostly a hunch, to be honest. And I hope she and Luna are still close. There's a lot people aren't going to be able to know without learning Japanese, to be honest.

Yeah Gamers seem to be having a lot of fun streaming, I don't think Fubuki will graduate for the next century, the massive fallout after her graduation would be unimaginable.
Fubuki graduating would be earth-shattering, no matter what. I don't think there's a lot out there of her previous work. She seems to keep her IRL persona and previous history low-key.

Considering how hardcore the Japanese idol otakus get, I guarantee she gets some small amount of hate for her collabs with Oga. I suspect, though, that one of the positive side-effects of Hololive's growing popularity is nobody gives a damn about her love-life. Hell, lots of people would probably be happy if it turned out her and Oga were actually an item. So I don't really see the sorts of scandals like what almost wrecked Towa really happening to any of them in the future, much less Fubuki.
Indie vtubers are a dime a dozen and like regular Twitch streaming before them, most of them are fucking terrible.
There are a lot of Japanese and Korean gamer girls who stream on Twitch and from what I've seen, there aren't as many thots. A lot of them use 3D models of varying quality but a bunch of them are genuinely cool people and since their audiences tend to be small, they can actually get to know you and you can get to know their community, too. I can't speak for the YouTube indie streamers, though.

Read up on parasocial relationships. It's not bad to want it but accept it'll never happen and move on. Otherwise, you'll engage in lolcow behavior.

Why am I surprised that only just now the Liberal Arts mafia all just discovered this crap when the ecchi ASMR scene has been around for years?

The western indie scene is a total cesspool. Too many of them are pure cloutchasers using their accounts for half-assed OC RP or alt mains while being too lazy/talentless to make their own models or too poor to buy one--not even considering that they would also need decent streaming equipment and an interface.

I've been scoping the scene with a vague interest in being a chuba but it's all too overrun with this type to try. Initially I felt those who had shitty Vroid models were bottom of the barrel lazy, but as I've found more and more accounts that don't even bother to throw together a properly draw reference sheet, the former seem like professional tier.

The only redeeming quality it had initially was it not being overrun by virtue signalers and moral crusaders because it was too associated with otaku culture to attract them, but I guess they found a way. It's a shame. At least a saving grace is that the majority are likely to crash and burn before they even make a debut.

Someone stated earlier in the thread that she put herself out as a canary in the coalmine for Hololive, so her graduating would mean the end is nigh.
Yeah that's what I meant with the "fallout" after her graduation, she pretty much took herself as a hostage and said she would graduate if Cover got too bitchy with their talents

Its been mentioned before but bears repeating. Fubuki, when asked to take a side in the China-Coco fiasco? She chose Coco with zero hesitation despite half her income being from her content on Billibilli and having a massive fanbase there. Completely ignored an ultimatum by her unofficial translation group to reject Coco or have the entirety of her billibilli channel nuked.

Korone has endurance, Gura has numbers, Pekora has her family-friendly appeal, but Fubuki? Fubuki is one of the Great Pillars. She supports the company like literally no one else does, pours her heart and soul into it. Her leaving would no-joke signal the end of Hololive.

That's kind of why I suggested the Japanese and Korean Twitch scene. Most of them have shit-tier models with poor animation but for them it's just a way to stream behind an avatar and still have a semblance of human movement on screen. Their primary focus is usually gaming or drawing and stuff. Their skill levels vary but the primary objective for most of them is to just have fun.

Accept that nothing is sacred and everything will eventually be infiltrated.

I think her wording was something like, "If I'm ever forced to do something I don't want to do, I'll leave."

She's destined for bigger and better things, I suspect. Mio is an organizer and occasional game master of sorts, but Fubuki has vision, integrity, and a very thick skin. From what I understand, she was originally 1st Gen but came up with Hololive Gamers and scouted out the talent herself and became a part of it. She's very entrepreneurial.

If (more likely when) she graduates to move on to those bigger and better things, I think she'll make it abundantly clear that she'll be parting with Cover Corp on good terms. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up starting her own company.

Gura seems to have found the fresh start I think she was looking for when Senzawa's fanbase descended into a den of jackassery. They've followed her but I suspect the more jackasserific ones will grow bored after a while and leave.
What happened there? Gura's clearly putting effort into keeping her own act relatively clean, even though we can tell from her colleagues that Cover is willing to tolerate a lot more swearing and raunch than what she does. Her "Do you want to explain to the class what you meant? Hmm?" act when someone chat starts getting suggestive comes across as downright wholesome and refreshing. The big shift from Senzawa's drunken "Here we fuckin' go...." is the biggest mystery surrounding her to me, when at the same time she's doing obvious callbacks with her song choices and such.

OTOH, she also seems to be trying to live a cleaner and healthier lifestyle (bathtub pizza notwithstanding) than when she accidentally knocked bunches of beer cans off the desk while singing, so maybe she just decided it was time to grow up.

Where does this 'Senzawa fanbase became toxic and she ran away from them!' stuff come from? Her last bit of content, from what I remember, was the Sponge Bob stream and she seemed to be having fun with it, bantering with her chat and making jokes about the coombucket and telling Patrick he has a nice cock.

I disagree. It feels like Hololive IS that bigger and better thing, and that’s why she’s devoting so much of herself to it.

I mean, choice of conduct. Being able to slip into the shitposter gremlin role (like with her master bait line last night) instead of having to do it 100% because your chat demands it of you must be nice.

She definitely knows what she is doing.

Her last message to her discord server had something to do with her fans, I believe. Then she ghosted it.

The virtue signalers and moral crusaders are there for the same reason the twitch thots and talentless hacks are: it's the current Popular Thing, it's where the clout is. Before this time next year they'll have mostly jumped on the next big trend. Same shit's happened with every other trend in web media.

I tend to avoid the kind of people you see constantly replying to big names and who tweet in every 'drop your png!' they can find.

Ah, discord faggotry ruins everything.

When Senzawa last went into her Discord server (I think it was about a year ago), she said something like, "Every time I come back here, a little piece of me dies." She had basically gotten a rep as a hilarious drunken shitpost queen and attracted the sort of crowd that a hilarious drunken shitpost queen would naturally attract. The whole "Okay Boomer" song probably added to the whole cesspool fanbase she had acquired.

I don't think it's just that she ran away from the Senzawa fanbase. I think she got tired of being a singing gremlin shitposter destined to die of liver failure. I think she matured and saw Gawr Gura as a fresh start for herself and a chance to cultivate a new fanbase. She seems ambivalent about her fans from time to time because she knows a lot of them followed from her Senzawa days. There's something depressing I feel present in her drunken Senzawa videos that isn't there in her Gura work. That's just my speculation, though. Not a fact.

I get this vibe off of her that she's gonna be BIG. Not 1 million subs big but legit important somehow. I doubt she'll take over Yagoo's job or anything--more like start her own talent business or something. I mean, we're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. I think Fubuki is gaining experience at Hololive and helping build the brand but at some point, her dreams and ambitions will be too big for the company or the management. That's my guess.

Someone stated earlier in the thread that she put herself out as a canary in the coalmine for Hololive, so her graduating would mean the end is nigh.
Depends on the circumstances. Fubuki could simply want to move on with her career if she grows too big for hololive, but if that happens she would more than likely be starting up an affiliate agency with YAGOO'S blessing. I wasn't the first one to point it out but I did make it relevant hear about the canary in the coalmine thing. Trust in Fubuki.

As far as her pre hololive career, it's difficult to find because there simply isn't much of one. She's a full on workaholic for Cover; if you wanna go into a bit of a deep dive into the life and times of Fubuki, you can watch Kiara's episode of Holotalk with her. Kiara got comfortable enough to ignore the softball questions and get a bit further than surface level with her; Fubuki's kind of unique in that she auditioned for the character as opposed to pitching a character for the audition. She also runs two radio shows (I'm guessing the JP equivalent to a podcast) , one of which is an advice corner, and does a lot of other BTS work. Her first real vacation/break was actually this year, where she took a week off streaming at her manager's behest but still posted daily content to her channel and kept active on Twitter. Even unofficially, she's probably tapped as a consultant for some of the more front facing aspects of hololive since she's been at it for so long and knows what she's doing.

I would make a joke about feeling personally attacked but in the streaming world, personality goes a long way. Granted, I am paying someone to make me a vroid model to use but I did it after careful consideration and wanting to get into the hobby without breaking the bank because I'm poor as it is. I am also not a graphic designer, but I know one so I can tell him exactly what I want in terms of a character sheet. Most indie vtubers, like most indie streamers are talentless hacks who just want attention. I'm not saying I'm above that but I'd rather have 10 people watching me than 100.

The people that kind of annoy me are those who drop nearly a grand on a live2d and have the personality of a wet blanket. Even when I'm not streaming I practice talking as if I had an audience watching me, seeing how I could respond to questions in character or discuss things I like discussing.

Oh, and since Jaeger asked: I can't find the clip but Luna and Matsuri are still on very good terms, it's just that their schedules aren't meshing well right now to work together on anything. I think Matsuri talked about Luna calling her on Discord out of the blue because she missed her and they ended up chatting for several hours. Bear in mind BEYOND THE STAGE is just around the corner so all the girls are getting worked to the bone.
