Personally I have nothing to fear from Thomas, I already know his real name (Initials JC) something I picked up from our former mutual acquaintance Zombienomicon.

Mecha, how is "anybody being able to come in and do any book for any reason" a big problem that needs to be fixed?
Comicsgate has had no shortage of would-be authorities in the past to enforce standards and principles and help govern the movement, but rather then "Great work" being made all that resulted in was most of the top talent being driven out of the scene for lesser, more politically compliant creators. They've also, to a man, despised you for your politically inconvenient and unapproved criticism.

In the face of decreasing prospects in the mainstream, more talented and more driven professionals (not just grifters) could just look at what these "lesser creators" are doing and simply decide to do it better and outcompete them for the customer's dollar. Thus forcing the "old guard" to either up their game to compete (as Mandy Summers is doing) or face obsolescence (like Wenger did). Really, the only way of preventing this is by introducing anti-competitive practices like apparently what Tim Lim and "OGCG" tried when your boy Mike Miller was bring brought into CG.

It's why the mainstream is rife with gatekeepers and cancel culture, to the medium's detriment.

In an ideal world. However the networks that formed were promoting Vampirella Covers, Self inserts like Cashgrab and TUG's books to huge numbers and the little guys were and still are having trouble getting traction. Not that Frog or anyone else owes them promotion, but it has been disappointing so much support based on a popular clique of youtubers yucking into the night watching Marc Rebillet music. Well that and playing awful songs wearing Jabba the Hutt costumes.

I got interested in Ya Boi Zack making fun of bad comics, so I'm dissapointed and delighted that a group of people who "defeated the sjws" are putting out stuff that's really not worthy of the lofiter and romantic aims of comicsgate. It started with bad comics and its still about bad comics.

I don't really have a solution. I enjoy being a critic, and hopefully a fair one.

I don't get it either honestly. The comic isn't really my thing and I'm sure as hell not paying $25 bucks for it but its not that bad.

Wart the wizard and Anna's cover were comically bad. Aldrake is also hilarious since Wenger draws like a child with autism. Charlie's London? I can't find the comedy there.

Sure, sending superchats to internet celebrities for the purposes of promotion is kinda gay. It's not out of the ordinary though and I've seen a lot of semi-shitty comicsgate books that aren't really bad enough to make a post about without wandering into a-log territory.

First let's look at the art. It's got to suck right?

Nah, I kinda like it. The book has good lines, decent character design, pretty good shadows. Not bad at all. Theres a LOT worse coming out of mainstream comics.

The book has also raised 36k. A decent amount of money. Nothing to criticize and its hard to say that its relying on paypigs because it seems to stand on its own merit and doesn't rely solely on the charisma of some youtube faggot.


This also looks pretty cool. I was expecting something way more autistic.

A release date of April 2021. Reasonable. The book looks like it will be sent to backers on time and its nowhere near Breitweiser levels of homosexual fuckery.

Why hate it? I don't know. Just because it's not a comic you would buy personally doesn't mean its a "bad" book. It passes the sniff test and the creator seems to avoid IBS and limp wristed slapfights. For a self published indie book in the comicsgate sphere this is one of the better offerings.

If you're going to shit all over a book and force me to investigate give me something juicier than a well drawn book about a 20's silent film actor. I know Mecha is new and doesn't understand the culture here but this isn't something most people on this forum are going to care about.

The main reason most of us are here is to laugh at funny shit and sperg about clandestine meetings behind pizza parlours.
