Or, to keep things on topic, it's messed up in the same way as shipping characters from the Saw series. Every source of entertainment has a little something called a 'genre' that it fits in to. And when you take elements and/or characters from one genre and shove them into another, it screws things up.
For example: Taking the characters and setting from a gory slasher and changing the focus to romance. It doesn't make sense!

There are instances where playing around with genre can be a lot of fun , but Coily plays it so straight she probably doesn't even think of how jarring it would be to anyone outside of her RP group.

She is not smart enough to subvert these genre expectations in a way that still makes it work. She is just lazy.

I'm honestly really glad xe/ze/xerox/xenophobia posted this, as it really speaks to me. I was misgendered (which is rape) a lot as a child, and I developed a lot of unhealthy coping mechanisms as a result. One of them is constantly poking fun at dipshits on the internet, as a way to reassure myself that I am special and godlike, and that I don't have to adhere to the same rules and standards as everyone else. That's probably one of the laziest callouts I've seen. Unknown shadowy figure makes claims with no sources whatsoever. I love how Greasetrap says 'receipts' when there are no receipts or sources on any of her caps -- just hearsay. It's doubly funny because after the callout for her gained a ton of attention, she and Kayla both said that caps of Greasetrap saying gross things in her own words weren't good enough or proof of anything at all. Greasy also reposted stuff about how dangerous it is to take callouts at face value and this is still the best she can do.
