No, you're not backpedaling on this. There is perhaps a slight advantage, but not so great as to affect the quality of one's personal life. Explain how that happens. You don't get to say "everyone knows" because you wouldn't be here if we agreed with you.
Nice dodging the question you did there. I asked you if you held prejudice against people who were transgendered simply on the basis of that status. It's a "yes" or "no" kinda deal. Much of the western world has become increasingly accepting of transfolk. Yes, there are a lot of countries where the culture views as taboo or evil, and most of them are backwater third-world hellholes. I'm unconvinced that we should take our cues from Iran, for example.
