Lou may not lose his foot, depending on how bad the impact crater of his got. If it got down to his bones and the infection spread, Stumpy Louie is going to be his new nick name. If it just progressed a bit worse from what we’ve seen, he’ll have a nasty scar but modern antibiotic treatments may be able to save his foot even now. He definitely has the beetus though, and I await the insulin grifting arc.

As I said way back when I joined the farms I want to see you live long enough for your mom to evict you, to watch you flounder around on the street getting taken in by some loser furry nearby that thinks they’re taking in some poor abused trans woman only to get Louis “That’s No Moon” Gagliardi and have to deal with your rancid hygiene and bad attitude nonstop until they too kick you out, all the while you beg and plead and scream on twitter about it every step of the way. All the hardship and misery you are facing right now is your own fault. You chose to do nothing with your life since you turned 18 nearly 2 decades ago. You chose to gorge yourself on slop and pop your entire life. You chose to find no skills and no hobbies aside from lying out your ass to take advantage of the generosity of strangers to fuel your addiction to buying things. And you chose to respond to people worried for your safety with hostility and attempts at getting them harassed because they told you that your foot was going to be a problem instead of forking over their cash. You don’t deserve to die, but you do deserve everything that’s coming to you short of that.

And, as you're no doubt reading this thread, we at KF do NOT want you dead. If we did, we would have told you your foot was fine and to ignore it, rather than scream at you for the best part of a year to see a doctor. As you have now admitted that we were right, you no longer get to claim that the Farms wishes you harm.
It may be too late for you to have any chance of a happy, pain-free life now. Depending on exactly how hard you have abused your body, you could well be permanently disabled or worse. You will never amount to much now. You missed that boat.

Oh to be able to put my ear up to the door when the doc confirms his beetus and tells Lou he has to cut out 90% of his current diet.
Or down the hall, really, since I doubt he has much in the way of volume control when his precious pop n tendies are suddenly a liability to his life- not that he gave much of a shit about it in the first place.

I agree with this, and I take "It's [not] diabetes... yet" to mean that they're testing his A1C but hadn't received the results yet at the time. I can't imagine that it won't be off the charts. As much as he complains that his life is an unending hellscape, this may be the first real crisis he's ever faced, and it's going to jerk him back to reality quickly and painfully. I posted earlier that when he finally gets the DX, every food he eats is going to basically be off limits to him forever. Dinner goes from 4 sloppy joes to skinless chicken breast and steamed broccoli... enjoy! And it doesn't get better, it only gets worse! Even if he does lose his foot I guarantee it won't hurt as much as the dietary changes.
Like great-grandma crossing the tracks, Lou's about to get hit by the reality train hard. Everything is going to change when he gets that diagnosis. We may never see him unlock again--those petty grifts and political squabbles might fade into insignificance as he starts his new full-time job as CEO of keeping his fucking body parts from falling off.

He might do that, but I suspect he's more going to wallow in self-pity and not change his lifestyle. Making significant dietary changes requires significant self-discipline and sustained effort, none of which Lou has been capable of in the last 37 years and I don't see him starting now.
I hope he is shocked into being a substantially better person, but I've seen enough cows (and enough episodes of My 600lb Life) to know that these kinds of people are incapable of accepting responsibility for their own circumstances and simply don't change. I give it even odds that Lou makes it to 40 at this rate.

What has me curious and just a bit doubtful is that I wonder what the impetus for him finally going to the hospital was, particularly since part of why he was refusing was so that he could prove us all wrong. I mean, he’s had this injury since what, August? And when people told him to go to a doctor he insisted it was healing and refused to go. Some of the signs from him could be translated as symptoms like him throwing up, freezing one night and burning up the next, but he always had an excuse.

I've been wondering about this too. I'm thinking maybe Momma Gags stepped in somehow - perhaps he got sick whilst around her, maybe he passed out, who knows. If Lou had his way he'd never have gone to the hospital, as we've seen up until now. So it makes me think something happened in front of his family and they forced him to go/called an ambulance/whatever.

Part of me wants him to come out of this still able-bodied but having suffered enough of a wake-up call re: how much he's wasted his body and his life that he comes out of the hospital with a new outlook and a commitment to do something with the years he has left, like, y'know, finding out what it feels like to actually earn your way.

I had just spotted this, wonder if this means they told him 'go home, take antibiotics, and stop being a retard'. You'd think that Lou would jump at the opportunity to go home with minimal treatment (if that's what's happening here), but at the same time this is more actual sympathy and interaction than he's gotten in months. If this keeps up he may fall headlong into a munchie saga.
Man it's so hard playing drama queen grifter telephone, bone infections are serious stuff and so is sepsis but given that both Lou AND Rabbie lie as easily as breathing and like to play things up as much as possible for their own benefit... it's hard to tell.
I did go looking up the treatments for actual bone infection and came across this though.

More money to enable the situation further? What Lou NEEDS is a dose of reality, not for even more money that landed him in the ER in the first place.
