What else is she working on? I love our little Nightmare and if she’s doing other content I want to see it.
Mel also has an IRL ASMR channel on YT and NND. Also, from what I can surprise from the things on her roommate Twitter is she also does modeling, or is in the fashion industry in some capacity. She's very attractive so I'm not surprised by that. That's why I assume she does traveling for IRL job stuff too, and why she doesn't stream as much as the other girls. I'm sure Cover gives her a pass on the lax streaming due to her being an OG Holomen, and the fact that end-of -year is chaos with concert prep.

So Pekomama now knows Pekora is a 1MM sub-count VTuber.

Now I wanna know Pekomama's reaction to Pekora's participation in Spice Love. Like no really, girl was involved in a sponsored campaign by Nissin which included a live concert with her, Aqua, and Subaru performing "Live" on youtube with 6 figures watching.

Let's put the memeing about half the concert's songs being glorified curry ads themselves aside. That shit's an accomplishment.

Pekomama should be proud, very proud.

They're both basic millennial white girls so I just assume that they follow that political current. Their commitment to that particular line of thinking probably isn't very deep outside of clout in their personal social circles and aesthetics.
We're talking about perpetually-online dyed-hair millenial/gen X women here, that shit should practically be assumed as a given. I don't demand that my content creators be based and redpilled, I could care less what loony shit people believe as long as it doesn't leak into their content.
Lemme add some context to Calli's environmental situation. If she's an EFL teacher, that entire industry in East Asia is jam packed with Millennial progressives who think they're smarter than the average blue-collar worker back home because they have a piece of paper that put them $150,000 in debt. They also usually think their host country is backwards and full of ignorant unenlightened savages. Big-fish-in-small-pond syndrome and progressive groupthink is the name of the game in the English Teacher "community" of every East Asian city. The majority of these EFL teachers are mostly alcoholics who never grew out of their party phase and have a shitty work ethic. Most of them are also very much outside of the overall cultural zeitgeist of their host country and are too lazy to even attempt trying to comprehend it.

Oh god "westernized" asians are the worst. They for some reason try to speak almost exclusively in English like their own mother tongue is a heathen language or something.

...are we still talking about Westerners moving to Asian countries? Seems to me like you’re talking about the reverse problem, where instead of staying completely true to their culture they adapt TOO well to the whole SJW nonsense. I’m gonna have to say they’re like the buttblasted trans activists begging for “reparations” from people that have bought CyberPunk2077. They’re fucking rare, but being violently outspoken makes them out to be a larger population than they actually are.

Speaking as an Asian EFL, it’s kinda surreal when you’re used to standing out, going back to being just another face in the crowd until you break out that perfect accent-less English.

ethnicity wise, isnt Ina the only Asian?
Yes, which is why I was puzzled on the derail.

I'm referring specifically to Calli living in Japan and the supposition that she is/was an English teacher. I'm talking about the expat EFL teaching scene which supposedly she is/was in. I'm not talking about what Stadenwick was saying.

Anyone using that term unironically can go fuck themselves it's so cringe and a desperate cry for people to notice them.
That is the perfect explanation of why it bugs me, now that you put it that way, yeah. I hadn’t really thought it through.

Also, I don’t really care either way about Ame & Calli’s politics. I think I picked up on it because we’d talked here about whether Project VShoujo would crash because it was full of lolcows, and I know the two of them both have a few of that crowd in their Twitter circle. I sort of got distracted by my hate of poggers, but I mostly think it’s interesting other people have noticed it and wonder if that might be meaningless long-term or cause some Twitter pruning.

Gura, Calli and Ame are literally just American white chicks, nothing asian about them at all.

Right, I thought Jaeger was talking about *local* EFL teaching scene, which isn't actually that far off from his description.

I still think Kiara will be the first one to slip up and meltdown on stream.
Kiara's been my initial bet from a couple of months ago (if anybody remembers when I was speculating a bit on her former reputation as keekihime and some of the drama that surrounds her/that she partially causes herself), but between Calli's very weak verbal filter and Gura's potential return to drinking, I'm willing to hedge my bet on an unexpected revival of Senzawa here.

Good thing she seems like more of a fun, shitposty drunk than a miserable one at least, but you never know.

EDIT: Actually, Kiara already had a bit of a mini-meltdown once near the end of the first month of their debut, IIRC? When she was in the process of moving, staying somewhere temporary, and using her manager's laptop to play Minecraft, which kept shitting itself, which eventually caused her to just stop the stream altogether and have a meltdown about how things never work out for her.

Correction, westerners on ALL Asian countries. They are often too lazy and almost always have this "holier-than-thou" that made them hard to assimilate to the Asian society. For some reason it's almost always the white woke type though, anyone other than that usually can adjust jsut fine

The one you're talking about actually fits more to Coco, who people on this thread have been a bit struggling to adjust to life in Japan after growing up in the US

Considering just how successful she is now compared to anything she had done before, I don't Keeki will went on a meltdown soon. But I don't know, one little slip up could lead to a massive shitstorm

i still can see that, since she is more emotional than anyone i believe (beside calli, idk much about her). she is waay taking many thing personally like reading comment from people, just like the other day on her mariokart stream, i really jump in right when idk if it SC or just normal comment said "yo can you stop laughing like a seagull?" that right also when kiara read it. she straight just goes silence and make it feel awkward.

but again since she also the one who has dealing with more drama and such i think she can handle it in a good way (?), like her shadow-banned, using her lore as a phoenix to revive and re did the debut stream quite clever for me tbh.

it can be unexpected blue little gremlin for me that can just slip up time to time if she keep guerilla stream while drunk. but like Gravemind said, her other side is more shitposting, swearing drunk so its still acceptable.

if messed up, prolly due political thing, and i think its calli

i barely watch them both, but just knowing about "iofi dan sora is like sister thingy" is heartwarming, at least knowing there another member treat sora just like the other but not a goddess is great!. also crazy to see iofi is the Holo ID member with lowest sub but yet she is the one who has more collab with any other JP Vtuber
