I'm going to be dead honest, if you seriously watch V-Tubers, you have some kind of mental disability and you shouldn't be allowed to contribute to society.

Well, people who watch V-Tubers already don't, so I guess that means nothing :^)
I have a folder of images for people like you!

I'm referring specifically to Calli living in Japan and the supposition that she is/was an English teacher. I'm talking about the expat EFL teaching scene which supposedly she is/was in. I'm not talking about what Stadenwick was saying.
that might be the scene Calli is in due to her job but she is definitely not one of them who is heavily involved in it. A lot of her earlier music is about her attempts to assimilate and how difficult it is for her to do so (she's blonde girl with a huge rack and a forearm tattoo, of course it's gonna be fucking difficult) so has genuinely made a good-faith effort to live in Japan and not cause as much trouble as other EFL teachers. Her original reason for going in the first place was to pursue music and possibly fuck a rapper, but that didn't really work out for her all that well.
Correction, westerners on ALL Asian countries. They are often too lazy and almost always have this "holier-than-thou" that made them hard to assimilate to the Asian society. For some reason it's almost always the white woke type though, anyone other than that usually can adjust jsut fine
I definitely knew some people like that when I went to Japan back in college. I was only there for 2 months and doing my best to try to assimilate into the culture and actually take it all in, and then I get some fucking landwhale in my dorm bitching about how people are giving her weird looks due to her tattoo. As if she isn't already sticking out like a sore thumb, to be that fucking dense about why the Japanese are a bit leery of tattoos is just goddamn ignorant. If you're in a strange place, you follow their rules.
Considering just how successful she is now compared to anything she had done before, I don't Keeki will went on a meltdown soon. But I don't know, one little slip up could lead to a massive shitstorm
Hololive is literally the best thing that's happened in her life, so she's gonna keep it going for as long as she can. She kind of deserves it too; nobody else would have been able to play off their channel termination in a humorous way as well as she did. Amelia flat-out admitted she wouldn't be able to do anything close to Kiara's stunt.

Granted, she is overly emotional but she doesn't have the same problems as Calli and Gura who get drunk out of stress and boredom respectively. Ina and Ame manage to keep things pretty tame, so I'm pretty sure they're not gonna slip up on their own very easily.

EDIT: What the fuck Youtube, why are you showing me this adorable Eldritch horror at this time of day

All this spergin' about Cali is even more autistic than the post about wanting to sniff Gura's toes after she passes out from too many jaeger bombs I was going to post to shit up the thread.

Please let me make this place worse it's the one job I have left.
Why not try that with jay pee?

Gura keeps getting jumpscared by the Temple guardian debuff
HOW
Is she faking it? i dont think you can fake jumpscared, can you?

Japan is actually kinder to foreigners than some other East Asian countries. Nevertheless, it is still VERY hard to assimilate and you will NEVER be a full member of the society. You will always be an outsider to some extent. But plenty of "lifers" usually manage to spread roots, become a part of the local scene, have friendships and relationships, learn the language, etc. Calli appears to be trying to fit in. And it is HARD. It is absolutely an uphill battle. And it is very easy to slide back into hanging out in the EFL bars, getting hammered, and getting by with "survival Japanese." I actually respect her for trying and persisting, even when her reasons for going to Japan didn't pan out. That black hole that is the expat scene is always going to exert a suction pull on her.

And those landwhales you mentioned? They are some of the worst you'll find in the expat "communities."

Changing subjects, as for Gura, right now she seems sober.

Still, we got three potential timebombs in EN. I doubt Gura will melt down like Calli or Kiara might but if she's not careful, she could find herself "dying a little more inside" like she said about her Senzawa fanbase a year ago. I don't expect any meltdowns from JP due to cultural differences and NEET/hikkikomori tendencies, but my most likely candidate for a JP meltdown is Matsuri.

With east asian countries in general, you might be able to successfully integrate into society (e.g. hold a steady job, learn the language, maybe make some native friends) but you will NEVER assimilate. Even half-Japanese with native family members are seen as outsiders, foreigners have no chance.

Even full-blooded native Japanese born in Japan struggle to fit in, hence the proliferation of hikkis. We have NEETs and shit in the west, but I honestly think Japanese ones are on an entirely different level.

it SC or just normal comment said "yo can you stop laughing like a seagull?" that right also when kiara read it. she straight just goes silence and make it feel awkward.
To be fair, there’s not really a whole lot you can say to that.
