The problem with replacing religion with science is even with provable facts that don't have to be taken on articles of faith; they still ignore it because it doesn't go along with their idea of how society/culture/government should be. You can look at the differences between men and women and notice physical differences without even using metrics to gauge how much potential each one has; then when you apply science you get actual values to see how much more the average male can out-perform the average female. With that we should be able to easily understand that at the top level of whatever physical competition, you don't want the women competing with the men, because they'll be easily trampled; we can even look at how men (who identify as women) have destroyed female athletic records with ease. But in their brave new world (which is totally led by science and our human brains of logic and understanding); there is no real difference between men and women.

These people who say "believe the science" never actually believed in the science. They just believed "the science" correlated with their ideology. This is in part due to the association between right-wingers and puritanical science-denying that a lot of these left-wingers still hold. When something like biological sex comes up they'll either ignore it it, or take some fringe exception to the rule to "debunk" it, because the ideology comes first. It's very lysenkoist in that sense, and lysenkoism was viewed as being a science.

June's denial of biological sex differences is indicative of this. The fact that women's sports leagues ban men outright, while men's sports leagues tend to not outright ban women, should be all the evidence you need of these differences. Nevermind the volumes of literature that clearly compare and contrast the human male from the human female, none of which is hard to find in the internet age. Instead June has fallen into the progressive position of thinking men and women are the same, not because "the science" proves this, but because the ideology demands it.
