So hypothetically lets say covid-21 is a thing and its more virulent too lets say 10% of untreated people would die regardless of age and health, what would be the red-pill take on that are you gonna comply or are you gonna rebel? Because In the event there is an actual deadly virus on the loose are you gonna run the same gambit?
That's about the threshold where I'd support mandatory mask laws and some level of lockdowns, assuming that it was decisively proven that the disease was that dangerous and the initial containment efforts failed. I would also expect the government come up with a coherent plan for said lockdown and when it would end and that said lockdown would not be applied evenly because the town of Bumfuck, Wyoming doesn't need the same restrictions as New York City. Personally I would comply with contact tracing and I would expect most people to do the same, even if I wouldn't harass people over it and I would expect quarantines to be instituted. I would actually comply with mask laws, and I'd be a mask that actually worked like a respirator and not the retarded surgical masks which don't do shit, and I'd expect the government to properly communicate the effectiveness of masks and make sure respirator production was scaled up.
I would also do shit the government decided not to do, like ban air travel until consistent testing was available and then require anyone flying to wear a respirator and present proof of a negative test. As opposed to what they did where it's supposedly a deadly fucking pandemic but you can still hop on a plane to and from the hotspots (until the flights shut down from lack of demand), that was a joke. I would make sure sports leagues have a concrete plan to resume play as quickly as possible using mandatory testing and possibly isolation of players, because people need to keep morale up. On that same line, I would make sure mental health is as easy to access as possible. I would support small businesses more and expect the big businesses that need to stay open in some form support their employees much better than they did instead of the CEOs making obscene profits while their employees work in fear.
And this is the big one, NO PROTESTS ALLOWED. Since this is an actually dangerous disease, you don't get the right to peacefully protest unless you hold it socially distanced wearing the proper masking. Anyone who breaks the rules gets arrested and sent to a quarantine camp. Even if you have some inherently just cause like "black people should be allowed to get away with anything because muh slavery and muh Jim Crow" you still get sent to quarantine and can hang with the "muh freedom" types there.
See, the funny thing is that an actual pandemic is self-evident because there literally are bodies in streets and a constant fear that emerges naturally and not because the man on CNN told you to be scared. I made similar posts like this back in March in the "Lockdowns and Quarantines thread" that the idea of lockdowns and all sorts of restrictions isn't necessarily bad and I don't oppose it because "muh freedom", I oppose it because even with what we knew in March it was a massive overreaction and akin to evacuating a state because some weak-ass tropical storm that'll blow through in a few hours is hyped up to be a lethal Category 5 hurricane of death. Real pandemics don't have to be sold and marketed to the people.
