I don't know what this game is doing but I've been playing stuff on medium/high at ~60fps up until now without too much trouble on my rapidly aging machine but all of a sudden Cyberpunk shows up and I'm stuck dumping setting after setting just to hit something that doesn't resemble a slideshow. I'm not greedy and have no issue with the game not looking like an advertisement reel for bleeding edge graphics but the hog on my system resources feels off. Curious if we'll get some more optimization patches down the line or more stuff like people finding that the Poles forgot to close a bracket somewhere.![]()

I don't either. I literally cannot comprehend it.
If they went to a restaurant and got crappy food, they would write the place off and never go back again. Yet they can't do the same thing with video games.
I can't wrap my head around it.
Literally me.Then decades later they'll cringe in the middle of the night remembering their white knight days as a safety measure to never return back.
Kek, the famous cringepost finally prolapsed into positive updonk territory. Probably because of the "edit" where he virtuously distanced himself from being used in Elon Musk's tweet.

Adam Kiciński (AK):
Good afternoon,
Thank you for joining the call. My name is Adam Kiciński and I am the Joint-CEO of CD PROJEKT. This meeting was organized to discuss the situation right after the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. At the beginning I will present our current view of the situation which we are in today. After that, you will have time to ask questions. I’m with Piotr Nielubowicz, our CFO, Marcin Iwiński the Joint-CEO and cofounder, and Michał Nowakowski, Board Member responsible for publishing.
We released Cyberpunk 2077 4 days ago on December the 10th. The game had a strong opening and we’ve got positive feedback from players enjoying it on stronger machines — PCs and next gen consoles and Stadia — but the initial feedback from those playing it on the oldest last-gen consoles is way below our expectations.
CD PROJEKT is a team that puts all their efforts and hearts to deliver amazing games. So how was it even possible that it has come to this?
After 3 delays, we as the Management Board were too focused on releasing the game. We underestimated the scale and complexity of the issues, we ignored the signals about the need for additional time to refine the game on the base last-gen consoles. It was the wrong approach and against our business philosophy. On top of that, during the campaign, we showed the game mostly on PCs.
This caused the loss of gamers’ trust and the reputation that we’ve been building through a big part of our lives. That’s why our first steps are solely focused on regaining those two things. We are concentrated on fixing Cyberpunk on last-gen consoles. The first substantial set of fixes was released over the weekend. The next set of fixes will be released within the next seven days. Big updates are planned for January and February, together with smaller fixes. Of course, PC gamers will also be getting regular updates and fixes to improve the game.
We will do everything possible to prove that we stick to our values. We truly hope that our efforts will let us rebuild the trust we have lost.
Thank you. Now we are ready for the Q&A session.
You can. I pretty tested out what happened when I stumbled upon them. I opened the door, they were talking without me noticing. I shoot one, the other gets out of the chair to go "PAPA/FREDDY!!!." I reloaded the save, tried again after getting them to get out of the chair and tell me where the tape is. What you got was likely a glitch and I wouldn't be surprised at other jank coming in. I attacked a doctor after finding out he worked with scavs in removing cyberware from their victims and I punched the guy as he ran away. I got a cop to chase me only to punch the drone and run further in the building which eventually made me lose my wanted status. Even bigger jank: snipe a netrunner in an alley, run pass the corner and into a dumpster as a cop spawned in with the alert sound and I lose my wanted status. Off the second netrunner and repeat the same thing for the same result. I like the game but I do feel they should fix the jank because I honestly can't see how the cops should zero in so quickly when I punch a sleazy doctor working with scavs. Much as I can enjoy the game because PC mustard race and not console peasantry meme, I still feel the wanted system needs to be fixed, especially with cops spawn in and immediately try to take you down after you give someone a love tap.You can kill the BD tape perverts? I shot both of them in the head and five cops instantly spawned and iced me because apparently killing the pedophile serial killers was a crime. That might have been a glitch though, it's honestly hard to tell with this game.
The cops are so broken in this game. I've had issues with them when I try to use grenades on enemies without realizing there are civilians in the blast radius. Honestly the most immersion-breaking aspect is that you simply can sprint in one direction and eventually lose them. You can. I pretty tested out what happened when I stumbled upon them. Not a terrible soft-body damage model actually lol. It's no BeamNG or Wreckfest, but it doesn't look bad.Has this been posted yet?
There's 1/3rd of a good main quest in there, and the city is is very nice to look at. Game clearly wasn't developed over 8 years (I don't think it started actual development until 2015/2016) - the assets and the map definitely, because it's extremely impressive, but the actual gameplay and missions feel like they were done in a year and a half. There are numerous large locations in the game that you can't enter that look like they were probably meant to be incorporated at some point (rocket island, stadium), along with things like better stealth in water perks and extra oxygen clothing mods, which have absolutely no use in the game, as you only go underwater once in a side quest, but you're in a scuba suit and there's no fighting.I haven't played it because lol modern western gaming, but I have been following the drama a bit. Two questions:
- Is there a decent game buried somewhere in the mess?
- How the fuck did this even happen? You have at least eight years and 500 people and this was the end result? I know shit like Anthem and 76 were disasters, but the former was EA and the latter was a cash grab shat out with not enough time behind it. How does a company as respected as CDPR drop the ball this hard?
Yeah it's something I discovered when I tried to evade cops on the highest wanted level when I wanted to see what happens if I short circuited a police mech from a distance. I get all the cops on me but once I bolt around the area, they aren't really looking for me even though I still had a wanted level. CDPR really needs to learn how to code in a better wanted system and the AI to go with it than just having cops teleport like an anime character and yeet you out of existence. They'll be a deadly group if you stayed in the area but run away and they'll have catch up if they weren't in a car. I even hid behind a dumpster after evading a cop in the building with a creepy ripper I killed just to see if I could kill him. Hiding behind a dumpster in a dead end still had the cop in the area know where I was vs the cop that despawned out of existence when I jumped on an open dumpster after sniping two netrunnersThe cops are so broken in this game. From what I remember reading, they didn't do much from 2012-2014. They only started development in 2015 and for all they put in, the game ends up being a Borderlands with no "billions of guns combinations" and without the meme writing of its sequel. Had they put at least some focus on the open world beyond driving around the city and doing side quest, they could of given gamers something to do beyond just stumbling upon a random event appear on the minimap with a police badge where the event will be the same thing regardless of whatever playthrough one's doing. At the very least Bethesda put random events that occur in certain places that varied. Sure that shit can be randomized if you save before reaching the area that triggers it but at least having a group of raiders get into a fight with randos and a later walk across the area replaces it with a faulty robot or coming across a wandering bard in Skyrim one moment and the next instance after a few in-game days replaces it with an assassin gunning for you at least made Boston and Skyrim felt a bit more alive than Night City having this one off moment of you seeing gangbangers engage in a one note scuffle with their rivals or seeing some thugs about to off a guy if the player didn't intervene. There's 1/3rd of a good main quest in there, and the city is is very nice to look at. If you take a look in the game files, there's actually a multiplayer .ini config file, so they likely spent a good amount of time attempting to get the multiplayer working too before cutting it. Feels like the game was completely scrapped and reworked (other than the map) at least once.

Alternatively, they probably did want to use Silverhand but bringing in a celebrity would eat a chunk of the budget, just like when Kojima made Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain when he wanted to Keifer Sutherland to voice Venom Snake and Big Boss even though the to characters don't have as much lines or memorable phrases as other characters in the game.I really get the feeling that there was a lot of scrapping and redoing once Keanu was on board. I really don't believe the Johnny Silverhand story was planned from the start based on a lot of the promises and stuff.
Seeing as Silverhand was one of three choices for a childhood hero in the 2018 character creation, this seems to be the caseI really get the feeling that there was a lot of scrapping and redoing once Keanu was on board. What perplexes me the most about their responses is they outright admit they were misleading the public about the ps4/xbone versions. Do they want a class action lawsuit? I could even see a EU bureaucrat trying to make a name for themselves going after them over this blatant false advertising.Don't know if this was posted, but fuck it.
This was a CD Projekt conference call transcript and recording from management yesterday.
TL;DR: Basically, it's them saying that that the last-gen console versions were greenlit under the assumption from management that they could fix them at release, and clearly they couldn't, and that they're up Shit's Creek expecting console sales to drop as a result and losing the trust of gamers.
