Jim Sterling / James "Stephanie" Sterling / James Stanton/Sexton & in memoriam TotalBiscuit (John Bain) - One Gaming Lolcow Thread

You can stop being metrosexual, drag, and wearing makeup at any time. You can't stop being trans. Gender reassignment will change you forever. There's a reason why the suicide attempt rate is 50%. Think about this before even considering gender reassignment.
I can't help but wonder if this is a chicken or egg scenario since I barely ever see a troon online that didn't already have pre-existing mental health issues before they trooned out and tragically, especially for the young ones in their teens, they assume it'll solve some or all of their problems and for some reason the doctors don't try and work on their other mental health issues before giving them hormone pills.

I guess as a plus it seems to be going slightly out of vogue in the trans community to have gender reassignment surgery and instead many are adopting a 'You can have a feminine penis!' style attitude.

I cannot second this hard enough. I seriously considered transitioning about 20 years ago but once I read up on it I realized what a jaw droppingly horrible idea it is. Your hormones control a lot of what your body does and injecting new hormones is just NOT what your body is equipped for. To say nothing of the fact that origami-ing your genitals into a new pair kills a lot of the nerve endings and so you lose feeling and pleasure which has got to be torture for the ones that transitioned because they thought it would be sexy to be a hot chick.

Trust me, if we could all just magically change our gender, half the farms would do it. It just doesn't work that way. Unfortunately...

Aaand this is the problem: No one wants to admit this. They claim the high suicide rate is because of "transphobia" and society not accepting them as women. "If only they just let me pee in the women's restroom I wouldn't want to kill myself!" This is why there is so much screaming about transrights and acting like this whole thing is a huge crisis, because THAT is what they blame for the suicide rate and not...you know...people being encouraged to transition only to realize what a horrible mistake they made.

OH! And don't forget the quack doctors who fuck up your surgery and expect thanks for it and are then defended by the transgender community because they don't wanna discourage people from transitioning! We've got a thread on that now!

Seriously. ANY transfolk browsing this site, READ THAT THREAD.
I never even considered doctors fucking up the surgery. That's fucked up

I used to think Jim Sterling was at least tolerable.
He used to be, I quite liked his old content but I'll side with @Null and his take; I think he's started to hate videogames and by extension his life and all his attempts to breakout and do something else have failed and that self loathing is just destroying him. I'm also pretty sure Jim doesn't have the most stable mind at the best of times so the foundation itself was shaky from the word go.

Basically every Old World culture except for nomads, nogs, the Japanese, and post-Roman Western Europe (not counting castrati here because all they did was sing) had eunuchs as an institution. They wielded quite a bit of power in royal courts (presumably to reduce the chance of the ruler getting cucked) . So maybe it's us getting culturally enriched. Thanks to the progressive stack troons might get a similar role in Globohomo that eunuchs had in medieval China. If we're already getting bureaucratic rule-by-ideologically-tested-expert why not that?
There's definitely a bit of an overlap between eunuchs and transsexuals. There is tentative evidence that transsexuals on average have a slightly above average IQ (about 107 or so). This may explain their somewhat stereotypical proclivity toward computer coding jobs, which at this point are not so far removed from a position in some royal court in terms of relative power. The disproportionate influence of the relatively affluent transgender community will probably only continue to grow. They're the Jews of gender.

He was pretty solid for the most part back during his Escapist days. His video about violence after the Sandy Hook shooting really stuck with me; particularly the bit where he showed Budd Dwyer's actual suicide footage to prove a point.

Dunno what happened but something changed after he went independent.

Yes, they're so smart that they cut their dicks off and then kill themselves. Truly above average intelligence.

What really pains me about all this is that going transgender has been seen as a fashion statement more than anything.
And like all fashion statements, it has a shelf life.

A lot of people seem to think that current trends and fashions will continue forever. They don't.

We're approaching the end of the social justice trend, but out-of-touch 30-somethings don't want to admit it. Playing Among Us and dying your hair a bright colour doesn't mean you're still cool with the young people.

I say this because they're making these permanent changes to ride a wave that's already crashed on the shore.

Let's look at autism. Back during the 00s there was a large push for autism. It seemed like every other week some C-list celebrity or has been actor was coming out as autistic or on the spectrum. They would get an article in chat magazines and then go back to being forgotten. We're seeing the same thing now with everyone Ellen Page to the Wachowski brothers (and Jim Sterling) coming out as trans for another 15 minutes of fame before going back to being forgotten.

You're wrecking your body and your life for attention that will be forgotten as soon as the next in disability or disorder becomes popular.

if there's any fucked up silver lining to this, it's that the problem sorts itself out considering 50%

Watching Jim over the years has been a slow descent into utter insanity, in some ways he is like Boogie: obese, deeply unhappy, obsessed with tat to fill the gaping gunt.

The fact he is able to make it - moderately - on his own while being blacklisted by many mainstream publishers for his "hot takes" has accelerated his post Escapist decline. On the one hand he is pitiable, on the other he's laughable.

Somehow he has bridged horrorcow and sadcow. I for one look forward to when the titty skittles lead to an even higher amount of unhinged ranting.

What is most baffling to me are the people that are celebrating this. I can only assume it's a "you're as fucking mental as I am!" kind of thing.

A few months ago, someone I've known for a couple of years who I met via gaming told me that his daughter was trans and he sounded so elated/proud about it, like it was a badge of honour. The way he spoke, it's like he'd won the lottery jackpot or something. I don't understand it at all. If I had a kid who had gender dysphoria I wouldn't be announcing it like I'd just won an Oscar.
