"Over half of small businesses in America have been systemically destroyed by our unconstitutional lockdowns of healthy people in preparation for the Levant Banker's "Great Reset". International monopolies have consolidated power and are buying up every asset that is left. Here's 500 billion dollars in near worthless Fiat currency we printed just yesterday. Oh look, Jeff Bazos owns over 50% of the country's wealth. Have a nice day citizen, wear your mask!" - U.S. Government

Reminder, the Founders killed British soldiers for far, far less than the tyranny we see today.

Businesses have been shuttered for nine months. What the fuck is 600-1000 dollars going to do? And of course there's massive bailouts for megacorps in there.

Morons that thought Biden was going to make everything better are in for a very very rude awakening.

And yet numbers are still increasing.

Big businesses should put their money where their mouth is and give some relief to local businesses instead of corporate pandering.

You know the job market will be low supply, high demand at this point.

So what insanity lurks within these allotments of a few billion dollars? Like wasn't there requirements that businesses taking money hire more diversity officers and funding for diversity studies in the last one (or the one the Democrats wanted)? Plus can't forget that "small business" included national chain restaurants.

It's basically like when in medieval times the serfs were allowed to pick through the already harvested fields and find whatever they could. You aren't getting shit compared to what the big boys get. Guess a colossal rise in "economic inequality" doesn't matter to the Democrats as long as grandma surives.

Remember stagflation in the 70s? Well guess what, welcome to stagflation part 2!

Bread and circuses was always the point.

Nobody could have actually thought that a one-time payment of even $1200 would be enough for anything, if someone didn't have a job and was relying on unemployment-- that's two mortgage payments for an average house, or one month's worth of rent.

I don't want to defend the bill but I think the idea is that if everyone (not just the businesses) get an extra $600-$1000 that they're more likely to spend it on said businesses (food, transportation, etc). The businesses would use that money to pay/justify employees who would then spend that money (and so on, and so on).

It's like a stimulus package (on paper).

It's also probably full of all kinds of nonsense and pork.

600 is pretty paltry. In an ideal world it should be, at minimum, 2000 monthly retroactive a few months. Most of the most desperate are now 5000+ behind.

I understand why the talks are so difficult. Deficit spending has gotten outta control since the 90's. It's coming back to bite in the ass. (The basic interest payments are becoming insane and inflation will shoot through the roof if the money printer keeps churning.)

The lockdowns have utterly decimated small businesses and state budgets. The "it's only 2 weeks to get ahead of the curve" morphed into months long repeating lockdowns.

The really scary shit is just how much more powerful oligopolies have become or have been created due to the pandemic. Breaking into certain markets now is basically impossible, even if you have insane amounts of capital. That's potentially going to be a dark future for anyone who wants to start their own business.

Senate Republicans and Democrats reportedly agreed to the specific langauge and details of the bill and a final vote is expected sometime late Sunday. That is...unless one of the Senate Republicans goes full autistic and blocks the vote.

A few dollars that are becoming worth less and less.

Less? It's literally fucking nothing. Unless you have roommates or live in the rural south/midwest $600 isn't even enough to cover one month's rent/mortgage. This country has been locked down for nine months.

Here's a visual aid to help show how the government's response to Covid has been.
