I'm sure this will definitively stop the sleep posters and not just rile them up, Amelia.

I hate it actually. Really wish retard EOPs would stop putting this shit on the girls, because then the stupid memes never stop.
I hate the Pog shit in general, even on Twitch, but I can appreciate why the girls do it. For one, the JP girls have no idea what it is and think it's just a funny face, but they know the overseas audience likes it so they do it to at least engage in their terrible humor. It shows they genuinely care about their western fans even of it's a really stupid joke.

Then there's fucking Calli who actually took a page from Twitch and made her own emote out of the fucking thing. She more than likely knows what it is (Gura and Ame can't exactly play dumb behind closed doors and they streamed on Twitch) but she also personally finds it funny to mess around with that face. When she first showed that thing off you could tell she was having a really good time laughing at it like the massive dork she is. It's like Coco with those "always has been" templates.
Apparently Calli's watch along for Boondock Saints was pretty good as she's such a giant fucking nerd for that movie. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet myself.
When she nerds out over her favorite movie she nerds out hard. Even though she has to trick herself into actually talking over them, you can tell she really is looking forward to whatever movie she decides to watch. I hear Fight Club was much the same.

If you understand Japanese, then Korone's watchalongs are apparently top tier. Aside from her usual happy self, she has outed herself to be a massive film buff and will watch anything in her free time, no matter how obscure. She also kinda knows how the language of film works despite not really studying it, so she's a lot smarter than she lets on.

She was the TokyoU graduate right? Or was it someone else?

I can't remember the last time anything significant happened around here.
There was that volcanic eruption in Indonesia in 2018. Pretty major thing that dominated headlines.

Oh, and the MH 370 thing, though I guess that's more of interest to people of Malaysia than anyone else.

Got another new vtuber company trying to get a start. I might toss in an audition for the fuck of it.

The more I look at it, the less promising it seems.
  • Their twitter has precisely 7 tweets
  • Their youtube channel has precisely one video
  • Googling "Heavenrend" doesn't turn them up on the first page (various anime use the name, which is where I think they got it from)
  • Their website looks like this. None of those are dropdown menus. It has exactly 5 pages, including "terms and conditions" and "Privacy Policy".

Their concept isn't particularly wrong. The idea that you introduce a script and have people follow it is a well-established idea in the entertainment industry. Obviously they're trying to be different from Hololive/Nijisanji by doing this, though the problem is that "cute animated girls doing scripted things" is already a thing, and it's called anime. Carving out a niche between the two is going to be difficult, which I suppose could be viable given a skilled enough writer, but I can't look at them and think that more than three people are working together under the edgy sword logo.

So under the assumption that Ina is Nagu, I decided to look into fflogs to get some idea of what kind player she was...

The last comprehensive public logs this player has are from Heavensward (although they do have some for Stormblood extremes and other misc stuff). During Heavensward, they were in the top 20 among scholars from NA. If this is Ina, then she's basically god-tier as Heavensward had some of the most difficult raid content the game has ever seen. Records of this character also exist in JP and EU so she might have alts in every region (not uncommon for people who just want to do social stuff in other regions).

If we're talking watch alongs I got recommended this a few weeks back and it made me consider converting to whatever religion Miko represents

I think SE balances their raid design around being able to clear even if you bring four dancers as your dps so it's not a big deal.
See, you know that, and I know that, but most English-speaking raidfags are/have been spergs who are all about "muh meta". But that's a discussion better left for the XIV thread – I was just highlighting that one detail as an example that autistic meta comps aren't even necessary anymore despite what NA raiders might tout.

Also, don't forget that the art suggests that Ina/Nagu prefers DPS'ing as a healer as well, so that's added respect right there. That's a sign of someone who knows what the fuck they're doing, for sure.

wait people still assumed about Nagu = Ina ?

for me if voice/pic not convincing, just look at her artstyle, her artstyle and nagu is pretty similiar and its not that easy to fake an artstyle. esp when you already going pro + nagu insta just got locked recently. even if Ina is not Nagu. her artstyle is waaaay too good to be no one

I mean, she's Korean. It's in her blood. Now we just need to put her in front of a computer running Brood War and let her accept her birthright.

West coast of where? If you mean US Pacific time, you'd better check again. Pretty sure it's slated to start at 2AM Pacific.

You are indeed right, I must've read the website wrong considering that I've seen it both listed at JST and PST times but with no timezone attached to the time I was given on multiple websites. Either way I'm probably going to still try to watch it live since I have the free time anyway.

I'm just going to be beyond dead to the world when they are done.
