Interesting the comments on this one.

Some articles they are very pro the lockdown, some they are very anti. Almost as if there is two distinct factions vying for the PR outcome. It's strange because comments tend to take a turn in one direction and then that becomes the consensus for that article, but probably not so strange really as there probably are many with conflicting opinions. Sorry for my poor English, it's not my first language (after 6 beers).

Anyway, the ones who really believe in this shit and are invested and are pissed off about the extra lockdown, don't like the fact those dirty Londoners are escaping from New York (so to speak) and about to infect the rest of them, perhaps causing them to be locked down further as well.

I dread to think what would fucking happen should a real outbreak of something nasty occur. Like Marburg or Ebola. It could happen. We have enough Africans here. I guess this is just a little tickle to see how things play out. A dry run. An experiment. It's all an exercise in just how far they can push people and control people via propaganda.

I don't claim to have all the facts, and even if I did, I probably wouldn't know what to do with them. But the longer this goes on, the more fucky it becomes.

They've cancelled Xmas just as everyone had just bought their presents and food and drinks and whatnot. Next they cancel New year. Who knows what gets canceled next year in 2021.

It won't be long before most people wake the fuck up and start to realise that things aren't ever going back to the way they were pre - 2020.

Back home to see the folks for Christmas as I did during Thanksgiving.

And I went to a gym, today, were only a select few were wearing a mask (only one or two of the old geezers.) It truly was a pleasure to act like a healthy human being around others improving their health. Glad to see not everyone has lost their mind as a result of this thing.

Too bad this won't happen in my current state for the foreseeable future. God damn I love the south!

At this point, never have I been more glad to move out of the UK and operate elsewhere. It's nice not having a blonde haired lying retard flip flopping and running his country into the dirt. I am going to put my tin foil hat on over this new variant of covid in Kent/London. I cant find the bloody info now but I am sure this new variant(one of many,many thousands being tracked) was first identified back in september. So; maybe it is new to that area but not new new.
Anyway; i know the police, airlines, haulage companies, ambulance service etc have been very concerned , due to the brexit shambles, that London/Kent would become dangerously gridlocked with traffic and certain places absolutely rammed with people.
The end of 2020 and beginning of 21 is going to be a shitshow like we have never seen before so what better way to, hopefully, reduce the problems than go to defcon4 in those areas?. Even if you stopped just a small percentage of movement in and out of the UK it would make a massive difference. This new tier could really take the strain off.
I am under the impression that the new strain is more contagious but it is not deadlier and the symptoms no greater. @otterley will know more for sure about anything medical i have posted.

I find it interesting that on Wednesday he said it would be "inhumane" to lock anywhere down for Christmas, only to u-turn 3 days later. Also find it interesting that the immediate reaction of the public is to fuck off out of London, no doubt spreading this more with how crowded stations are. This could be some grand plan like you theorise, or it could be plain incompetence and a lack of spine by politicians. I lean to the latter.
