hbomberguy / Harry "Harris" Brewis / Slazenger Rapemachine Whiteshaf - "Rational" SJW, former SA goon/LPer, sexual harassment apologist, raised $350K+ for child abuse cult

Hbomberguy came out with a video celebrating Fallout New Vegas. Which probably would have been great to come out two months earlier, for the 10th anniversary of the game.

And from my brief listen, the dumbass calls the Legion fascist, despite the Legion, not even being a centralized state, let alone one with enough control to enforce a corporatist economy.

Well, he may have the definitive voice of a smug cunt and infamously organized a donation drive to a homophobic, transgender child obsessed group, but at least he has some good taste in video games.

Authoritarianism is not fascism. When will these people learn? probably never, but that's what keeps the whole rodeo swinging now doesn't it.

No the legion wasn't fascist it was based off of Roman imperial gov't it wasn't even subtle i knew Hbomberguy is a dumbass but this enters a whole nother realm and out of all the games to review its New Vegas a game so glitchy only the pc version is good due to mods fixing the broken game plus its 10 years old the game has been talked about how genius it is since release and you could'nt make the aniversry because your too busy being a lolcow?

Didn't he already do a load of this in his Fallout 3 Is Garbage review years ago? He's recycling material now.
To zoomers & The Terminally Online who spend more time talking about things rather than doing something, videos such as these are warranted. If you've never played NV & need a crash course on why it's great, Hbombs video is useful, if a bit generic.
Like @Jazz never died! said, NV has been lauded since it's release, to the point it was used to promote the subpar Outer Worlds. Hbomb doesn't add anything to that conversation whatsoever. Not to diss New Vegas, but liking that game is not an indication of good taste, as it implies the person has taste in video games beyond the most well-known & most celebrated releases.

His content isn't nearly as interesting as his antics. If he's going to do a future video on the Stalker series (as his video suggests), you might as well tune his vidya opinions out entirely. What good is a media critic when they only cover the most well known "niche" games out there? They're a dime a dozen & Hbomb lacks creativity in the editing department to make his stuff stand out. Look at his videos, Skyrim, Mirror's Edge, Overwatch, Dark Souls 2, Fallout 3, Doom 2016, No Man's Sky, etc. The only games indicative of Hbomb having a developed taste would be Braid, Darkest Dungeon, Bayonetta, LISA & Pathologic. In Pathologic's case, his video of Andersonesque proportions came out directly after better YTers made vids on it.

He doesn't need to prove he's a connoisseur, just that he warrants his popularity & approval of superior (& far more specialised) creators. To be fair, this may be part of his strategy to distance himself from Breadtube and to make inroads into less political, more controversy-free communities. Release standard generic agreeable vidya essays now, switch audience expectations, retweet appropriate left-wing opinions to assure them you're on their side, collaborate with other better creators, have them show up in your comment section & eventually make interesting stuff once more.

Also, here's an alternative furry thumbnail:

Had to stop watching after 5 minutes, either i've had enough of being bombarded with dry, sarcastic, ironic, self-referential humor or that whole style is getting very boring and stale.

It's a good strategy that'll keep his channel going for the foreseeable future and maintain his existing fan base.

I thought fascism's whole shtick was basically just looking at the Roman imperialists and being like "that, I want to do that but more."

I haven't really played the game, though. I think I played for like an hour and just put it down with the intention to come back to it but never did.

Fascism is more about the metaphor of the fasces and what it represented to the Romans (unity, people being stronger when united) due to its Italian origins. They were drawing on a cultural precedent they had for the symbolism, but in terms of actually following their policies it was very different. You see similar imagery in America's founding with Neoclassical architecture and the fasces representing unity between the colonies, and it has the same superficial hearkening back to the Roman Republic as a source of cultural legitimacy and reference.

All's I know is when I asked Weev about how he reconciled being a first amendment martyr with being a fascist, he started yammering on about the Romans and it was the cringiest shit I ever seen.

This + socialism. There is a reason many called themselves "national socialists". The main idea being that international cooperation between all workers/peoples was improbable if not impossible. A concept that was born from the rise in nationalist identities and fully developed from the wounds of WW1. Many early fascists, notably Mussolini, were hard core socialists (if not outright communists) who became increasingly disillusioned with the idea of one international workers union. The natural alternative was nations coming together as workers with a specific national identity. Eventually these grand worker states would form a sort of alliance where they would be all equals.

Of course, this was only the ideal and obviously just as flawed because what is a national identity? Would southern Napoli Italians have their own country? Would German Bavarians? Why would the strongest national power not just dominate the other smaller worker states? Its honestly just as impractical as one international workers super state.

The whole "Class genetics" part of fascism was born from Hilter, who was not really a fascist ironically enough. Its more accurate to call Hitler a "Hitlerist" who bought his own hype. Many of the more socialist policies implemented under his regime were put forward by other members of the Nazi party who held onto the actual tenets of fascism/socialism.

Bringing this back to the point, Caesar's legion is just a rip of the Roman empire. An autocratic imperial Hierarchal slave society. It is by no means fascist, capitalist or socialist.

As someone who plays the console version regularly I can tell you that the buggyness is greatly exaggerated honestly but ignoring that small microcosm of the review he did seems weirdly even handed when talking about the factions he even barely talked about mr house apart from a self awareness lacking jab about libertarians wanting to lower the age of consent. I did have an issue with him clearly having a weird hatred of the boomers and seemingly completely misreading their character and story there's also some standard disco elysium cocksucking that his types love to do.

It's not really cocksucking if it's a good narrative game.

I haven't watched the video yet but I'm pretty sure the whole deal with the legion as compared to the roman empire was that Caesar (in the game) was either misunderstanding or changing how the story of how the roman empire integrated cultures. Whereas Caesar claims that they essentially obliterated any and all cultures that they conquered, that wasn't actually the case with the real roman empire, as they would allow conquered localities to keep their existing leaders as well as the gods they worshipped. In any case, that form of extreme assimilationism is enough for most wokesters to qualify something as fascist, so that's probably the reason why hbomberfuck says that they are.

I might be misremembering, but I think Caesar actually did prefer to integrate tribals and that's how he got so much power. I think there's a bit about that in the one DLC where you help the people living in that canyon.

Yeah, he integrated them, but in a way that obliterated their original culture. I was specifically thinking of these bits of dialogue

Maybe they are fascist in some sense, but I doubt much thought was put into labeling them as such by Mr. bomberguy

Lol Fallout 3 is seen as either the second best or best between it and Nv in the eyes of the fans

I only played the console version myself i was only referencing the pc masterrace obsession of fixing Obsidian and Bethesda games once they stop bug fixing themselves
