In my experience, people enjoy lolicon tend to fall into a few different categories:

• relatively normal weebs who look at loli stuff occasionally when they're in the mood for something more taboo/extreme but don't talk about it, and aren't attracted to real children
• weebs who are into it casually but don't really talk about it other then to defend themselves or artistic freedom, and aren't attracted to real children
• weebs who are into it but play up their enjoyment as a joke or to trigger antis, but aren't attracted to real children
• weebs are are really into it and talk about it all the time and probably shouldn't be let around children just in case
• pedophiles using it as a crutch to try not to offend, who should seek therapy instead or be shot on sight
• pedophiles who will take any pornographic content available that involves children, and should be shot on sight

For some reason though Weebs like to shove it into only two categories, being the ones who like Loli and those who don't. We usually don't use critical thinking skills basically

LOTS of people that were into anime were front and center with; we don't want/like this in our stories. And then the ones that defended it... they defended it in really weird ways. NOBODY just said "yeah, I love this shit!", or anything like that... It was very odd.
The most common excuse for it was of course "it's a troll"... Ok, how many times is he going to "pull the same troll", to the point where his life seemed to be devoted to it? I mean, that was a lot of effort for "a troll". Almost all of his supporters were very quick to say " I don't support the loli/cp/hurtcore/etc" which I thought was weird... why orbit such a group of degenerates then? And then finally the "free speech" model they like to set up because they are trying to gaslight people into thinking that if we don't allow hyper-detailed drawings of life-like children being put through unspeakable acts, the next week we are all going to see book burnings in the streets.
Now all of this is old news... But what disturbed me the most, is how the depiction of hurt-core and children has somehow become "cool" among these groups (even though they are quick to defend themselves by stating right away that "they don't support it"), and these groups seem to be mainly made up of two large types. The first are young males who are likely awkward and have found these online groups that accept them. This bothers me because kids are, and always have been, dumb, and will stay on the dumbest train if all of their "friends" (people they secretly talk to online about perverted shit I'm sure they dare not bring up around anyone else) stay on. So this is the "cool edgy thing", and it's being passed around the *cool kids* as a sort of graffiti tag. Do I have to remind everyone that all kids depend on the internet ATM for school?
The second big group is straight-up pedos. It's gotta be. How many times do people need to have the "kids getting raped" joke? Especially when the kids depicted are hyper-real drawings? There are defenately people that are following this because it gets them off. It's NOT because they enjoy the "kids getting raped" *joke* so much that they need new versions of it every chance they can get their hands on it. They are paying money-out-of-pocket for it. Even worse, these communities have developed a "it's cool bruh, it's just a joke" air around them.. making it a safer place to go to try to obtain this shit.

Lolicons have a specific characteristic, which is to like lolis, cartoons. Calling us a pedophile only creates confusion for YOURSELVES. Well, at least you’ll have a hard time separating one group from the other. ALSO that causes lolicons/shotaconss to join the pedophiles group consequently making us sympathize with their cause and making it bigger.

First, you must agree that we can separate pedophiles into two groups. 1) Those who choose not to have sex with children for ethical reasons, due to the empathy they have with other people. I doubt it will help to fix anything there. At the very least, you are helping to make that person lose empathy with human beings, and I guess you know that without empathy, the person won't care about raping others.
