These are people who's sense of worth in life revolves around their special status. Starting their own special interest forum solves nothing for them except creating a more public discord for them to coordinate.

They want to subvert, to appear to be a much larger and more important special interest group than they actually are, and reflect change through that medium. Games are closest to maker medium which has growing influence, so you enter "popular" gaming forums, use your protected LGBT or oppressed status to silence critism, and effectively be slacktivists by demanding other people forceful inject your wants into the culture.

In a way I pity that their only real self-worth is demanding your niche interests be held as major gaymer issues but it's funny so lol

Because, like you said, the whole point is forcing others to bow down and do what they want. It wasn't enough that Kyuuji created a thread to talk about Cyberpunk and CDPR's transphobia, they had to force the other thread for the game and everyone in it to talk about that as well, and when people started ignoring those posts they forced the OP to have transphobia warnings in every page.

They already have the TransEra Discord server with only approved members if they truly only wanted a space for them. If they wanted that space to be a forum they could easily create one and veto any newcomer before they could join their community. But then they wouldn't have other people to lord over or go after, so they would be at each other's throats within weeks. They would also lose the "prestige, history and power" the name ResetEra took from NeoGAF when it was created, however small it is right now.
