Exactly. I mean, like, if Trump wanted to be re-elected, maybe he could have USED THE INSURRECTION ACT WHEN CITIES WERE BEING BURNT DOWN and then PEOPLE MIGHT HAVE VOTED FOR HIM.

The insurrection act has nothing to do with public support. It has to do with whether the Generals will support him. And I'm not sure that would be the case after exiting Secretary of Defense told the brass that they should not follow Trumps orders. That doesn't seem like the type of rhetoric where Trump automatically has the Generals on-side.

The insurrection act is not a coup cause as it's checked by the judicial branch. If Trump calls it over the election the courts would shut it down. Insurrection act then is out of the picture so if the "generals supported it" that would just be a military coup, which is definitively Q-boomer fiction.

But thats why I wonder then, why was an insurrection act clause put into the COVID bill if the judicial branch could slam dunk it?

Trump hasn't even had the major cases of voter fraud heard. Just fat denial by activist judges or justices that are scared of the consequences of applying law. He deserves a hearing, weather you like him or not.
Most of the reasons of being thrown out is

"Muh latches"
"muh nigger vote, you can't throw out dem nigger votes"
"Muh deBOonKer"

They've been trying to do this since he threatened to use the insurrection act back in the summer. Traditionally you would only invoke the insurrection act in scenarios like that in cooperation with the local government and he was threatening to go over the top and force it down their throats which is why there was so much backlash.

The Democrats tried to put through a bill back in June or July to this effect and big important bills like this are the Trojan horse of legislation, which is why this is hundreds of pages of every special interest dog shit project or law either side could think of to get their ✅ vote with a $600 cherry on top or as it's called in Congress "bipartisan negotiation."

This is just the first of many Trump revisionist laws you'll see. He was an expert of bending rules and regulations in business and did a number on the "unwritten rules" presidents usually follow so now they are going to try to close all the loopholes so the executive branch can't just give Congress the middle finger next time and the Republicans will happily go along knowing the next one to try it is not guaranteed to be on their side.

The problem there is the SCOTUS hasn't even heard the case. It would've been different if they heard the case and then ruled against it. At the moment they simply dismissed the case out of hand.

That's because there wasn't a strong case. Only 4 SCOTUS members need to agree to hear a case, and none of them even filed dissents to the dismissal of the case. If there was a strong case, it would have been heard. Conservatives have a 6-3 majority on the court and three of them are Trump's own appointees.

Get ready to have "DEBOONKER" yelled at you.

If the case is as poor as people have said, hear it, rule against it since the evidence is poor, and then we can get back to our lives. Refusing to hear the case isn't helpful for anyone.

If SCOTUS was forced to hear every case that gets appealed there, there would not be enough hours in the day to get through them in hundred years.

President's Trump's lawyers had a job to make their case in their filing, and they didn't do it. All they needed was four justices to agree to hear the case, and the whole court would hear it. They fucked up or as CoS Mark Meadows told Judge Jeaneane yesterday, the legal effort was more of a PR campaign than anything else.

So to recap Supreme Court says no standing. Then Alito and Thomas, two of the judges Q-tards we're counting on to crown Trump said "we should hear the case but there's no fucking way in hell we were going to delay election certification like you were asking btw."

This wasn't a normal case. We had over half the states and an entire political party throw their lot in. The litigants by themselves are an army of lawyers and you're telling me NONE of them could file a case?
