The Groyper movement has become slightly too self-indulgent when it comes to things like Baked Alaska, Kami, what constitutes 'optics,' etc. It no longer has the same appeal outside of that, given that, as you suggest, people who are concerned about the lack of principle in mainstream 'conservatism' are unlikely to be easily immersed in the minutiae of why IP2 streams are based and tradcath.
Fuentes still has an eye towards causes outside of the 'Groyper' movement that he can use to promote himself, such as the 'Stop the Steal' rallies. However, the Groypers themselves have not produced that many people who could undertake a serious challenge to mainstream conservatism, given the Groypers' seeming attachment to remaining a self-indulgent subculture. The only political influence they are likely to have is by shoe-horning themselves into existent movements that are mostly neglected by mainstream figures, such as those in the GOP who are concerned that the Republicans aren't standing up for Trump, but obviously they might get impatient if they have to leave behind their dreams of based tradcath theocracy.

Right-wing Trump supporters can be slightly bipolar in that way. They will trust their own figures almost unreservedly, assuming that their grifters are pure of heart and that their side's corruption is 100% legitimate, while suddenly questioning whether the election is real or whether Pizzagate proves that the elite are covering up their Satanic paedophile reptilian rituals. It's fair to say that there is corruption or underhandedness in much of official politics and higher society, but the Trump supporters often just look for the next 'based' lawyer, politician, e-celeb, etc., or for whatever proof that they are 'winning,' and then they go out of their way to lionise these figures and to mock their opponents for being 'losers.' In spite of the conceit of 'questioning' or being cynical about official society, they actually just look for the next example of /ourguy/ in the establishment, and then fall for them unreservedly. Qtards are a slightly extreme example of this, where Trump and his administration are magically going to drain the swamp and arrest the Satanic paedophiles, but it's why the right-wing pro-Trump grift can be profitable and gains a naive fanbase.
In all likelihood, if Trump was elected, then people like the Groypers would go after people like Charlie Kirk again, and would get angry when Trump continues to stand by Kirk and ignore the Groypers, and would then get angry and 'disillusioned' at Trump again. The unrealistic expectations of these Trump supporters means that they're easily 'disillusioned,' but then they just look for the next fad.
