It may just be impossible to explain the rationale of the mentally ill, but it seemed to me like it was a way to preserve the "bro" aspect of his channel while including May in his failing business. She never really came down very hard on her own troonery, she never began any sort of social transition (even in a laughable way like Digi, who just wears skirts while maintaining a five o'clock shadow so he can peep in girls' restrooms), and hasn't said anything as far as I can recall about being a tranny since leaving Digibro.

It's funny to call out Ralph with this, but I don't think it's really effective in any way. It's way easier to deride him for dating a pedophile, since he can't just laugh that off.
