Large explosion, buildings damaged in downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A large explosion was reported in downtown Nashville early Christmas morning.
The explosion happened in the area of Second Avenue and Broadway near Commerce Street occurred around 6:30 am Friday. Heavy black smoke can be seen rising above the affected area.

The Metro Nashville Office of Emergency Management told News 2 a parked RV exploded and caused damage to several buildings. They said crews are currently assessing the damage but no injuries have been reported. Officials with the OEM also reported foul play was not suspected at this time.

There was a large police presence in this area along with fire crews. News 2 has reached out to Metro Police and The Fire Department to learn more.

Didn't those guys who robbed the Swedish art museum way back when use a car bomb to distract the police?

This whole thing being a prelude to a movie or Payday style heist would be pretty badass. Shame about the alledged human remains though.

I dunno but lack of political message + wanting to make the casualties as low as possible strikes me as the motivations of a thief. The authorities could be withholding information to avoid having a spate of them occurring if word gets out that the heist was successful, keeping any would-be jackasses from getting the same idea.
My guess is that if it were a robbery it wasn't of a bank but a high-end store like a jeweler or an electronics outlet. A bank isn't out of the question though, and it was my first guess since they targeted emergency communications.

There are better targets than that then. The bomber obviously wanted to keep casualties low but hit downtown anyways.

My guess is the AT&T building was the target. One of those "5G causes corona" tinfoil nutters.

What if this was a murder and the remains found are the victim, pretty good way to dispose of your wife you stabbed 47 times, blow her to burning bits. No fingerprints, no teeth to match to records, unless the DNA is in the system identification gonna be pretty fucking hard

Lol @ people automatically thinking early on it may be a meth lab explosion. Everyone knows there's no way any explosion in the midwest or south can't be meth related amirite? I'm very curious as to what the motives were for doing this in a place like Nashville during Christmas. Christmas makes it sound kebab related but I don't think the city has too many of them. 🤷‍♂️

Considering the evacuation, I think the Christmas timing was just to minimize casualties. Who the fuck knows though

Yeah, it's a bit weird. I posted it already in the other thread in Happenings but he uploaded the videos on September 11th, October 1st, and October 3rd. I also downloaded some of the videos too. I'll put them here just in case too. Idk if the other two dates mean anything.
