At least Doug is following my prescription for success, finally. He resisted being a "YouTuber e-celeb" forever, while filling his channel with unwatchable pap of himself preening and drawing, occasionally mentioning Jesus and his Principles.

It wasn't working. His sales were declining.

I told him to pick a topic that's popular, and make daily videos. Doug is following the Tim Pool path of giving 74 million Trump supporters false hope. Just read those Epochtimes.com articles into a camera while smirking. God damn, that's a rocket ride to a million subs, if he keeps it up until Biden is inaugurated. And then, I guess, just turn your channel into a Biden/Harris Haterz Club.

Even if that subject matter doesn't translate to comic sales, which it probably won't, Doug is going to earn 6 figures at YouTube!

For example, Jack Posobiec, who has 1,200,000 followers, which is like your and Zack's sub counts combined times 4, couldn't even hit his $60,000 goal. He did get "funded" because it's a flexible goal, so he got to keep the money, but it just proves most people following these talking heads just want something to listen to in the background while they're working, they aren't gonna fund books.

Doug's got 4 million views in the last month, and looks like he's approaching $200k a year statistically through his channel.

Not sure how accurate Social Blade is, because my own says I make $1.4k a year and that isn't accurate. In 2019 I made $200. In 2020 I've made $500ish, with $340+ of that in December, which'll pay out next month. I'm guessing the $340 December month changed the stat to $1.4k a year, which means Doug probably had an INCREDIBLE month to be projected at $200k a year now.

Good for dirtworm, I guess. Now I need to try and replicate this with horror videos.... We've got a couple bluray unboxings coming today.

The difference there is that Doug actually IS a comic book creator, and Poso isn't.

Really, though, you only need to keep a small percentage of a large sub count as devoted fans in order to make a good living from your work.

Everyone who wanted to buy the book has bought it by now. The only way to get new backers at this point is to appear on other channels, which I haven't been doing.

I have writing to do, dude. I can't stream 8 hours a day like I did at the start of this campaign. It's useless to preach to the same old 50 people for 10 hours a day.

I'll be streaming again soon to do more promo but not as often.

I can confirm this. My articles for the Federalist and the following it garnered there translated to only a handful of sales even on the book-book end. I had options for non-fiction book deals and getting hired to write "news" for a living much like Doug Ernst does, but I frankly don't enjoy writing that kind of content at all so I bowed out of it rather than spin my wheels trying to build a following who didn't want fun pulp action-adventure books, which is what I enjoy doing.

This is why it is important to introduce people to comics when they are kids.

There is an old saying, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." Unless it is a special circumstance, most adults don't just suddenly become comic fans late in life, they are fans because they were introduced to comics when they were kids.

Modern woke comics are turning kids away from the medium. I think this is where the most long term damage will stem from for the comic industry.

If the seeds aren't planted for the youth to become comic fans, there will be no future for comics.
